Comments about BG L4R Revelation Bb Clarinet Ligature:

This ligature does exactly as promised with a clear, bright sound and a very easy staccato. The flexibility allows a large palette of tones. The upper register is especially easy to reach and is almost effortless. Try this one over the Rovner Dark ligatures that are so popular. The fabric doesn't choke the reed like the Rovners, but the brass plate prevent dampening of the sound. It's an impressive product, but the bright tone is a little difficult to get use to. To get the covered sound that's preferred in classical, try tightening your embouchure. Another thing is that the reed, held in place by only two brass crowns, tends to slide around a bit. The ligature won't slide while you're playing, but it's easy to push out of alignment with your finger. I suppose this is to prevent it from choking the reed. Anyways, it's an excellent, specialized ligature for high notes and jazz. It's light and easy. Comes with mouthpiece cap and advertisement manual.
