If left in place, these food particles will continue to absorb the acids in saliva and, over a period of time, will cause a cavity to form inside the mouthpipe. This often presents itself as what looks like pitting or bad plating on the exterior of the mouthpipe.As this "rotting" continues the interior of the mouthpipe continues to change shape. This can lead to difficulty in playing, not to mention the decay of the instrument. By using a Bob Reeves mouthpipe swab after each playing session, you can ensure a long life and consistent playability from your instrument.Note:
