The text, adapted by composer Allan Naplan, is a lullaby written by the Belorussian Yiddish poet, David Einhorn. On the eve of World War II, more than half of the sixteen million Jews of the world spoke Yiddish. With the onset of the Holocaust, however, the expansion of the language and culture came to an abrupt end. In recent years, the language is once again being studied, spoken and sung. Beautiful work for SSA Voices, Piano and optional Cello. Duration: ca. 5:00.
