A Breedlove designed for a versatile playing style with LR Baggs electronics, a Sitka spruce top and myrtlewood back and sides.
Now available with a soft cutaway, the Breedlove Oregon Concertina CE Sitka Spruce–Myrtlewood is a body size smaller than the award-winning Concert model, delivering surprising projection and more nuanced notes from the smaller Concertina body shape. Engineered for a light play style, this acoustic-electric guitar has become a favorite of players around the world. The Breedlove sound comes through bold and clean with balanced bass, mids, and highs reminiscent of rosewood. Engineered to perfection, this guitar is ideal fingerstyle play style. The maple neck complements the sustainably harvested Sitka spruce and myrtlewood in tonal perfection. Our Sitka spruce and myrtlewood are locally sourced in the Pacific Northwest—a short distance from where they are hand-crafted in small batches by Breedlove's dedicated craftsmen. The myrtlewood sound stays true when amplified through the highly reliable LR Baggs EAS VTC electronics. You will sound better, play better and play more on a Breedlove Oregon Series guitar.
Sustainable & Clear-Cut Free
Breedlove uses no clear-cut woods in its Made in Bend models. It’s that’s simple. This guitar features sustainably sourced all-solid exotic and native tonewoods handcrafted by skilled luthiers who are as sensitive to the needs of the Earth as they are to building the best-sounding and playing guitars available anywhere.
Concertina Body Shape
Breedlove’s distinctive small body guitar delivers a surprisingly clear, crisp sound, and its short-scale 12-fret design makes it a joy to play. Extensive Custom Shop engineering and experimentation has resulted in a modern shape that has a bigger sound and a more comfortable profile than a traditional parlor model.
Sitka Spruce Top
Because of its ideal strength-to-weight ratio, yielding a strong fundamental, high velocity of sound and a pleasing elasticity, the Sitka on this Breedlove sounds great for heavy strumming, light fingerpicking and everything in between.
Myrtlewood Back & Sides
Popularized by Breedlove, myrtlewood, from the windblown Oregon coast, combines the best elements of rosewood, mahogany and maple—rich bass, warm midrange and clear, bright trebles—for truly versatile guitars. Each sonically distinct instrument is individualized by the gnarled, wildly varied, but always arresting grain patterns.
Sound Optimization & Hand Voicing
Why do Breedlove guitars sound so good? It’s simple, Breedlove guitars are made with care, with the goal of allowing you to play better, sound better and play more. But it’s also complex, with art, inspiration, craft and science merging together in a process Breedlove call Sound Optimization. These models are hand-voiced, with experienced luthiers meticulously tapping, listening and shaving away tiny curls of exquisite tonewood as they target specific, measurable frequencies that will make each unique, individual instrument sound its very best. The tonewood species are carefully milled, weighed and considered, with backs and tops specifically tuned to each other to create light, responsive guitars with superior tone and sustain.
The Breedlove Neck
Breedlove guitar necks feature a slimmer neck profile, which enables comfortable play, even with smaller hands. Unlike traditional dovetail neck joints that require major surgery for a neck re-set, it is easy to adjust the play action and neck angle with the Breedlove bolt-on neck and single-action truss rod. The hand-rubbed, semi-gloss Breedlove neck finish contributes to ideal playability—the finish process alone takes three days, including precise finish coat applications, fine sanding, and hand buffing and rubbing.
