Concerto Body Shape
When Breedlove set out to create a guitar that would surpass the classic, big-bodied sound of the dreadnought, they didn’t just want it to be loud. They sought to bring out more tonal complexity, and to offer a much more comfortable playing experience, too. The result is the Breedlove Concerto, like this USA Concerto Day Light E, a new guitar shape created to elicit more volume than a classic dreadnought, and more lush, complex tonal resonance in a comfortable body shape that feels just right. Loud, textured and supremely satisfying.
Breedlove Neck
Breedlove guitar necks feature a slimmer neck profile, which enables comfortable play, even with smaller hands. Unlike traditional dovetail neck joints that require major surgery for a neck re-set, it is easy to adjust the play action and neck angle with the Breedlove bolt-on neck and single-action truss rod. The hand-rubbed, semi-gloss Breedlove neck finish contributes to ideal playability – the finish process alone takes three days, including precise finish coat applications, fine sanding and hand buffing and rubbing.
Back and Side Wood
Ziricote is similar visually to Brazilian rosewood, but with dark greys instead of warm browns and rich chocolates. Tonally it is similar to striped ebony, but brighter.Deep boomy sound with sparkly highs. A favorite wood for classical, Baroque, flamenco, and other fingerstyles.It is known for low dampening qualities, similar to most rosewoods, with rich basses and clear trebles. Produces more clarity than Indian rosewood, but provides more overtones than Macassar ebony. Striking in appearance, much like Brazilian Rosewood, often with “spider-webbing” but in shades of grays and olive greens with black rather than reds with black. A slow growing tree, Ziricote is found in tropical deciduous forests, usually at low elevations but occasionally at elevations up to 1,500 feet in the mountains. While not technically a rainforest tree, it does need at least 40 inches of rainfall annually.
L.R. Baggs EAS VC
The EAS Element Active System VC from L.R. Baggs delivers performance previously unattainable from an undersaddle pickup. The streamlined and efficient design removes every unnecessary internal component to improve the coupling between the transducer and the guitar. This substantially improves the sensitivity of the transducer for a robust, lively and open sound with great dynamics and a delicate high end.
The Element Active System pairs the Element undersaddle transducer with a pre-contoured, all-discrete class A endpin preamp and includes a small, removable soundhole-mounted volume control for added convenience and versatility.
USA Series
Knowing sound frequencies travel most efficiently through lighter weight materials, Breedlove designed the USA guitars to be their lightest, most alive instruments. Achieving their thinnest finish – just 5 mils on the top and 2 mils on the back and sides. Binding and decoration have been minimized. Tops are sanded thinner and soundhole sizes reduced to achieve a targeted fundamental resonance. When you first pick up a USA instrument, you will immediately recognize how light it is. When you first play it, Breedlove hopes you'll be amazed at the sound too. All the woods are salvaged or individually harvested. Breedlove does not use clear-cut trees. Handcrafted in Bend, Oregon. Each guitar includes factory-installed L.R. Baggs EAS VC electronics and a deluxe Breedlove hardshell case.
