Buffet Crampon selects only the finest grenadilla wood to construct the R13 clarinet. The wood is seasoned to enhance its acoustic properties and prevent cracking, then polished to allow the natural beauty of the grain to shine through. This premium wood, combined with a poly cylindrical bore and undercut tone holes, gives the R13 clarinet a rich, resonant, centered tone.
The R13 clarinet features 18 keys made of sterling silver, a material chosen for its ability to produce a clear, ringing tone. Forged and shaped by hand, the keys have a fluid mechanism and slick feel under the fingers to enable crisp, accurate playing.
