OVERVIEW

Treat yourself to the incredible 3-channel versatility of the Bugera 333 120W amplifier head.

The hand-built Bugera 333 120W all-tube head offers 3 channels for maximum versatility, each with high-quality reverb, FX Loop, and 3-band EQ. This cutting-edge, modern style amp effectively handles everything from super-clean chording to high-gain leads, thanks to its 3-channels, aptly named Clean, Crunch and Lead.

The Clean channel won't break up, making it perfect for jazz, country and blues. Plus, it's the ideal channel for players using external boxes for their OD and distortion.

The Crunch channel is ideal for rock and dirty blues tone. Plus, it shines as the heavy rhythm channel for a metal rig if you really crank the gain.

Last but not least, the amp's Lead channel has the same structure as the crunch channel, but with access to even more gain.

Each of the 333's channels has its own volume feeding the overall master volume, so you have total control over the level of each. The boost option of the FX loop allows you to set each channel at the same volume and then boost or cut the volume of the entire amp no matter what channel is selected.

Some other outstanding features of the Bugera 333 include a damping switch (high, medium, low) for total sound control, an impedance switch (4, 8 and 16 ohms) to match virtually any speaker cabinet, an FX Loop with independent send and return level controls, and a line output with dedicated level control.

The EQ section, called HYPER-ACTIVE, allows for unlimited tone shaping and big, scooped-out metal tones via the midrange control. You have to hear this to appreciate how much more tone control you can get.

Finally, the Bugera 333 includes a heavy-duty 4-button footswitch that allows you to easily select your channel, and quickly boost the FX loop when desired.

And that's the 333”3 fully independent channels for 3 fully independent gain structures and tone stacks.

This model does not feature Infinium technology.

Purchased the Bugera 333 head as an open box mint for a price so low I couldn't go wrong. I didn't really need it but I figured I could use it around the studio for backup. Well was I surprised, the sound was equivalent to high priced boutique amps. Opened it up to find there was not a single IC in it. all quality analog components. They did cut construction corners by using less than good connecters, knobs etc. You can't please everybody but they pleased me and I usually go for the best available. You can get very clean to very dirty high gain sounds. It has a nicely sensitive EQ. I'm not crazy about the sound of the reverb but if you're using it live its good. The included 4 button foot switch is smooth and quiet. If I see another one of these at the price I paid I will get it.
Did I mention its is way loud!!!

I read all the bad reviews, but I also wanted to see for myself. I bought one. I plugged it in with my Marshall 12's , and the power light wouldn't come on. Everything else did, and seemed to work fine (gain on Lead channel was very ...weird/touchy though). The thing really sounded amazing, and wayyyy more power than I would ever think about even needing, let alone using.

I went ahead and bought another since I had the 2 year warranty also, so I could compare the 2. This one had a bad tube. I switched out a good for the bad from previous amp with power light out, and was up and running. Again...the thing sounds GREAT, but for how long is my question ? At this price I can't beat it, and at this weight (55 pds delivered) , I won't be taking it anywhere, so it shouldn't see much abuse. I will just jam and see!

Comments about Bugera 333 120W 3-Channel Tube Guitar Amp Head:

I've used this amp now for months. I play 3-4gigs a week and it has done nothing but shine. Great clean! The crunch ch is all the drive one would ever need. The lead ch is over the top gain. The master volume lets me push the gain without taking off the heads in small pubs. I can also play large venues and have it as loud as I want. Never had the master volume above 1/2. I've put my Marshall in a road case for back up and don't think it will see the stage again. For the price of the 333 I could go thru 5 a year and still be cheaper than the marshell and it has every bit as good of tone. If your on the fence jump off and buy this amp. For the price of a good matched set of pre and power tube set you get a whole amp.

Comments about Bugera 333 120W 3-Channel Tube Guitar Amp Head:

This head is everything you need. Obviously it is not a mesa but it actually has a really great clean tone. Having owned one of their 5w combos that I wasn't thrilled with I was skeptical about how a head at this price would sound but it kicks burro. Way more power than needed plenty of tone possibilities and the dual outputs and attenuators make it very versatile. I love this thing. If you must, the nameplate comes off very easily so you can pretend it's something you paid more for but sooner or later word will get around about these. I haven't used the foot switch yet so maybe that is the weakness of this head but so far I absolutely love this thing. I'm running it into a custom 112 cab with a v30 and it is the sweetest.

Comments about Bugera 333 120W 3-Channel Tube Guitar Amp Head:

I run this head with either a 2x12 or a 4x12 cab with older Alinco mag speakers and love it! The clean is crisp and powerful. It works great with pedals. The 4 button footswitch operates the crunch and lead channels as well as a boost/fx loop. With the gain and lead channels you can get some excellent harmonics and smooth distortions/overdrive. I happen to think it is also a nice looking amp with the center grille and tubes glowing in the background. I don't look forward to spending the money when it comes time to re-tube, but at this price this is an amazing deal! It will keep up with any band, but works fine for practice too.

This is my third all tube amp (Marshall, Epiphone and Bugera)oh, and an old Seymore Duncan 100 watt all tube with no speaker but that's a story for another day! Thanks MF for all the great gear you guy's sell me.

Comments about Bugera 333 120W 3-Channel Tube Guitar Amp Head:

New to Bugera I was not sure of what I would get but the low price was too good to pass up. I had read a lot of reviews about the various Bugera heads. It seems most everybody agreed that the power was great but the quality was poor! Cheap knobs, switches, ugly face plate etc.
I really don't need 120 watts or three channels and all that gain but what I wanted was a powerful clean channel with lots of headroom. This head gives me what I want. For how long I don't know as I just got it.

I have tried it through a 4x12 cab and a 2x12 cab. For me the 2x12 sounds better. There again I am not trying to move a lot of air and the 2x12 works best for me. This is the first tube amp that I can get the tones out of my Strat that I have searching for and for a long time.

The main con I have is this baby is a "BEAST".I mean heavy. I would not want to haul this baby in and out of gigs every night. (Although you would develop an arm like a gorilla. Maybe that is the look your going for.)

This head gives me the pristine clear clean tone I have been looking for. I hope the longevity of this head will prove to be as good as the tone.
          We shall see.

I give this head 4 1/2 bangs on the Banger scale only because of the weight does it lose 1/2 bang.

If you want and all tube head that is REALLY LOUD,I can't imagine any thing this amp could not keep up with, with three channels and more gain than what should be legal, step right up my friend
          and become experienced.

I have used this amplifier for about a week and have had no problems at all.

I am an older non-proficient player of a couple years and have owned or still have 3 other tube amps and 3 solid state amps to 100 watts. I am using this amp for all my practice since I received it and have no complaints. Will keep my Egnater Tweaker and Roland Cube 60 that I bought used.

Curse you Musicians Friend for the awesome price on this gear.

Comments about Bugera 333 120W 3-Channel Tube Guitar Amp Head:

This amp is just incredible. It's like a 6 channel amp with the boost function. At the current sale price it's a no-brainer. Everyone should get one. The tone is as good as a high end Marshall or Mesa. My only criticism of the amp is that the volume & tone controls are a little sticky...but that's a minor issue. They work perfectly. And the active EQ is just sick. I've had a Bugera V22 for several years and it still works great, have played hundreds of gigs with that, and this amp seems to be built even stronger- so I have no worries about it's longevity.
Unless you play death metal this amp is perfect for just about anything. LOVE IT!

Comments about Bugera 333 120W 3-Channel Tube Guitar Amp Head:

Based on having this amp for one week and about 8 hours playing time:

Easy to dial in great tone ... eq controls are very responsive and nice to have individual set on each of the three channels.

Plenty of power ... driving two 4x12's and it's way loud at 9:00 ... easy to balance the volume across channels too.

Gain ... more than I will ever need and I love high gain:
                        The clean channel stays clean
The crunch channel has what I consider medium gain as low as you can set it. Crank up the gain and channel volume and there is all the gain I will ever need.
The Lead channel starts out with as much gain as I will ever use. I don't need this channel for the amount of gain but it's nice to just hit the footswitch to get more gain when you want it.

I may try adding an overdrive to my signal path to use on the clean channel to get some lower gain ... can't get this with the amp only ... there's a gap between clean and (pretty heavy) crunch. Or ... I may try changing to AT7 or AU7 pre amp tubes to dial down the overall gain.
The effects loop is handy too ... especially with the +4 boost ... works to give that little extra when you want it ... almost like a fourth channel.

                        Two nit-picky things:
The blue lights for power and standby are very bright ... like little blue spotlights ... I just don't care for the look.
The knobs are cheap plastic and so close together that there probably are not very many options for changing them out ... really not an issue once you have it set up, but this is one piece of evidence of how they hit the low price point.

Over all it's a winner for me.

And ... note to Bugera Design Department:
the first thing I did after making sure the amp wasn't damaged in transit was strip off those ridiculous looking plastic fake chrome things on the front of the grill ... 5 screws to open the grill and 10 little screws to remove the plastic things ... less than 5 minutes total and it looks way better.

Comments about Bugera 333 120W 3-Channel Tube Guitar Amp Head:

Gonna keep it short and simple. Not the modern gainy muddy amp like most lower end amps today. The Marshall MA sounds like garbage and is twice as much as this one. I like a Halen - Scorpions -- Brown Sound and it actually is articulate enough to do it. Good tones and alot of possibilities. I use JMP JCM Marshalls and Roccaforte Boutique heads and this one can keep up very well with all of them. The reviews here were very correct a great great amp for the money.
Think I will use mine as a backup but it is good enough to use daily and save the tubes in your high end amps. It sounds very very good clean or crunch this amp cannot be beat for the money. Only fear you should have is if the shipper treats it bad which mine didn't

I bought it even after some bad reviews. I can't say enough good things about it the, power and distortion is awesome, I run it thru a acoustic lead series 4x12 cab. It's the best half stack i have ever owned and i've had many over 48 years of playing.

I have been playing guitar for 20 plus years. And for the price.you cant go wrong! It does what is described! The clean channel is sparkling clean for country and even my 12 string sounded great through it! The crunch is a great southern rock sound. The lead is just that. A great lead sounding channel. If you want a great tube amp. Get it now!!!

Comments about Bugera 333 120W 3-Channel Tube Guitar Amp Head:

The 333 has worked from out of the box. I have had it about a month, and changed out all the tubes. That made a big difference, but doing A - B tests with the Marshall TSL100 next to it, it comes off a poor second. The 333 is very compressed, which is what people want, I guess, in JSX land, but the Marshall howl is not there. But I knew it was voiced differently. The master volume control, is indeed a linear taper, not an audio taper, and I cannot turn it up beyond 0.5 (not even to 1) before it is blisteringly loud. The pots are soldered onto the circuit board and not easily replaced (by me, anyway). I need to check the bias on the EH EL34s I put in; I replaced the feeble Bugera 12AX7s with two Mullard reissues and two Phillips ECG NOS in the clean and crunch channels. They were in the Marshall; I have four JJs in transit for the 333. I could use 12AT7 to cut down the gain, and perhaps adjusting the bias will open up the sound a bit. I'll post more details as I go.

I play drums, guitar and bass on a band and brought it to my buddy's studio to check it out and it blew me and my buddy away, we both have Marshall's and Mesa's and this one keeps right up to them! Heck, my buddy John was so impressed that he went and bought one of these for himself and we're going to use these on some new recordings. It's an excellent amp and the price is unbelievable!
