Bulgheroni Oboe d' Amore
The highest quality wood, heavily silver plated keys, artistic keywork along with magnificent tone and response make the Bulgheroni instruments truly world class, but at a price that is significantly lower than comparable French made oboes. This exceptional instrument is, without a doubt, the finest value in the oboe world today.

This oboe d'amore came new in perfect condition, no adjustments needed, great sound, and no chips in any tone hole, often seen on new wood instruments. It is made of the best wood and manufactured with precision to the finest detail, better than any new oboe I've seen. The tuning is right on and the two bocals are fine, although I prefer the shorter one. It's a joy to play!
This instrument is one of the best I have ever played. It is perfect for everything and it is a must buy.
When I tried out this horn, I compared it to a seasoned Loree' that was played by a professional, and I could not tell the difference in tone and quality or ease of playing. Naturally, I purchased the new Bulgheroni, and have not regretted it in the 2 years I have had it. It is a magnificent instrument.
The mechanics & action on this thing looks & feels very, very solid, and the grain on the wood appears to be very tight. Even Bulgheroni's "Opera Oboe" is getting rave reviews, especially for its solid lower register, i.e., low notes that speak easily. I can certainly attest to the solid sound and feel on my current oboe d'Amore. (Oddly enough, both their Oboe d'Amore and "Opera Oboe" models go for the same price.) Here's a helpful hint on how to extend your reed life: Soak your reeds in a small cup of hydrogen peroxide to kill the "bacteria experiment" before you put your reeds away. You will extend the life of your reeds immensely. I do this after I arrive home from a night of playing. Take care. Pax et Bonum,
