OVERVIEW

Book and MP3/data CD of cello studies.

The ABCs of Cello for the Intermediate, Book 2 features learning 2nd Position with melodies, warm-up exercises, study pieces, scales and arpeggios, and many graphs to show new left-hand finger placement, a note-reading worksheet and practice chart. As a direct continuation of the ABCs of Cello for the Absolute Beginner, Book 1, students enjoy learning additional slurred bowing techniques, rhythms, new key and time signatures. 2nd position is introduced in a logical, easy to learn manner covering all 4 strings.

The special mp3/data insert consists of three components: 43 mp3 performance pieces of cello with piano accompaniments, piano accompaniment tracks by themselves for play-along, and a printable pdf file of the piano accompaniments. The ABCs of Cello Easy Piano Accompaniment for Book 2, on the CD, will help facilitate practice and recital performance. Performances by cellist Ignacy Grzelazka and pianist Artem Belogurov.

Lovely melodies abound like Beethoven's Russian Folk Song, Turkey in the Straw, Cherry Blossoms, Haydn's Surprise Symphony, Stephen Foster's Old Folks at Home, Row Your Boat, Joy to the World, Deck the Halls, Auld Lang Syne, Beautiful Dreamer and Amazing Grace. Beautiful original pieces by Janice Tucker Rhoda including The Lost Horizon/Ha-Ofek He-Avud, The Native's Chant, Gentle Breezes/Soyokaze, Monkey and the Elephant, Lullaby and China Sea are student recital favorites.
