I started the tuba again after being away from it for 30 years and am in my fifth year now,the upper register of this horn is excellent, smooth and clean, great intonation. Rotory valves are a new thing for me and they are much faster than pistons, great response too. I highly recommend it for it's great sound. The perfect choice for the still learning intermediate student on a budget.
Ive owned one of these horns for a little more than a year now. I love this horn so much. It has a very resonant tone in all registers and dark tone. Very good intonation and has good response. very similar to a Miraphone 186 and looks almost exactly the same and for half the price. Highly recommend this horn.
This tuba is great for those advancing high school students who prefer BBb over CC. Our school has three and they are good school tubas. My director likes how his podium vibrates every time I play a pedal F. It works really well in orchestra settings, but not so well in jazz. Thats why I learned the bass trombone. Anyways, this is a great tuba for the money, suprisingly.
