This tuba is absolutely amazing. I played on a Schmidt for the longest time and my sound and tone quality were... Alright at best. Then I got the 5j and my sound and tone have improved 1000 fold. The valve design is comfortable, the valves don't have as much fall time when pressed down as opposed to other brands, and I rarely have to pull out my tuning slide to be in tune. This tuba is beyond amazing.
