Comments about Conn Vintage 8D Series Double Horn:
Since I started horn and became aware of brands, I hated Conn. I play on an old 6D myself, and yeah, it's nice. But I have tried so many 8Ds out and none except the old and coveted Elkharts have been up to snuff, so I just decided against Conns. I live in the Cleveland, Ohio area and the Eastlake factory is nearby. They had a display at Severance and I played their 8D and found it, once again, clunky, heavy, awkward, not right. Then I picked up a V8D and it was all I could do not to walk out of the hall with it. It has a warm and buttery mid range which was the first thing I noticed. It still kept my prized high range in tact, even going above it. But the real winner is that it gave me my rightful low range. On my 6D I have a very stuffy low range but on the V8D it is delicious. I am happy Conn finally is making good horns again.
