OVERVIEW

An electric banjo for unlimited new sonic possibilities!

This Deearing Crossfire Electric Banjo is a stage performer's dream come true. Plays as loud as an electric guitar without feedback. Use the Crossfire Banjo with your electronic effects and pedals, too. With tone and volume controls on the banjo itself and an actual working banjo head stretched over a brass tone-ring, this Deering banjo has the convenience of an electric guitar but with a banjo sound.

This Crossfire banjo has two powerful, active, magnetic pick-ups under the head; one in the neck position and the other by the bridge and both powered by a single 9 volt battery. By a flick of the toggle switch, you can play the bridge pick-up or the near-the-neck pickup or both at the same time.

You can plug this Crossfire into any keyboard amp, acoustic amp, guitar amp or run it directly into your PA system. While it will sound different in these systems, your versatile Crossfire can play through many systems. You can play almost silently if you play it un-plugged which can extend your practice hours at home or in a hotel.

Whether high volume on stage, or un-plugged on the couch when the kids are sleeping, the Deering Crossfire Banjo works with you everywhere.

Gain the ability to play as loudly as an electric guitar without the feedback problems you have with an amplified acoustic banjo by playing a Crossfire. Not only can you adjust your sound by turning the tone knob from bass to treble, but the volume knob also gives you immediate control over your output. And you can plug in amplified headphones and play silently so that only you can hear. With the Crossfire you have all the power you need and you are in full control.

Tone:
It has a banjo tone and can be altered with effects pedals and midi interfaces.
It will not sound exactly like an acoustic banjo just as an electric guitar does not sound the same as an acoustic guitar.
Tuned: G,D,G,B,D
Can easily be tuned in other tunings as well.

Best electric Banjo on the market in the world.

The Deering Crossfire electric banjo is the best electric banjo in the world market. Combining playability with style, the makers have re-invented the banjo for the 21st century, allowing players to stand there ground in the modern band next to amplified guitars and bases. The Crossfire has a gorgeous neck which is certainly the fastest and perhaps most accurate banjo neck I have ever played. The body is solid and has a very attractive look. Some may find the weight a bit of a hindrance as it is surprisingly heavy but for the serious banjo player, it should be of little concern. What is sometimes forgotten is that the crossfire has two magnetic pickups under the skin head and it is possible, via the flip of a switch, to alternate between them or to activate both at the same time. This allows for differing sounds and volumes depending on the musical situation.
