Comments about Electro-Harmonix Cathedral Stereo Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal:
Cathedral is electro harmonix second generation grail reverb. It is an improvement in the sound of the Grail. It also features Room hall and plate effects which were unavailable on the earlier version. Overall I found the reverb workable for that which I wanted to do, which was in fact not a highly elaborate use. I ran the cathedral tthrough two Marshall MB300 using two lines which the cathedral as a stereo reverb permits. This effect permits a true steep sound. I then used Hall with no feedback and very limited reverb delay, keeping both amps on low treble and mid bass in the so called Marshall classic position. The overall effect was to emulate the bass effect of Ladi Geisler and company on the old James Last and Bert Kaempfert records. I don't think as a jazz guy this should be turn off to those who will use this in a more rock oriented effect for which its definitely intended. My use shows the effects diversity and adaptability to a very different musical milieu and the genius of Mike Matthews and company at EH in designing this pedal. If there is a better reverb on the market, I'm not aware of it.
