OVERVIEW

The legendary Les Paul in Chicago Blue Pearl.

Today, over 50 years after it was first introduced, the Les Paul Standard is still the king of electric guitars. Now, Epiphone' Ltd. Ed. Les Paul Standard Blue Royale brings you all of the œLP Standard' rock-and-roll mojo in an exclusive Chicago Blue Pearl color finish.

Les Paul, the Heart of Rock and Roll
The Epiphone Ltd. Ed. Les Paul Standard Blue Royale features a solid mahogany body and maple top that deliver the classic tone and sustain that can only come from a real Les Paul. Like all Epiphone Les Pauls (and unlike imitations), the Ltd. Ed. Les Paul Standard Blue Royale features a 14-degree headstock that gives you more pressure at the nut for more sustain with less tuning hang-ups caused by "string-tree" gadgets.

The mahogany neck has the legendary SlimTaper D-profile and is hand-set and glued for outstanding string-to-body resonance. The rosewood fingerboard has a 12 radius, a standard Les Paul 24.75 scale, a 1.68" nut, medium jumbo frets for smooth fretting and classic trapezoid inlays. The body and fretboard both feature the Blue Royale Collection' distinctive Silver Sparkle binding, as well as a beautiful metallic silver pickguard.

Alnico Humbuckers, the true Les Paul Sound
The Ltd. Ed. Les Paul Standard Blue Royale is powered by Alnico Classic humbucker pickups, each specifically voiced for the rhythm and lead positions, that deliver the warm, rich tone known the world over as the œLes Paul Sound. Epiphone-designed humbuckers utilize a double vacuum waxing process that ensures quiet operation free from microphonic hum.

After winding, the pickup is first placed in a specialized wax vacuuming system before the cover is placed on the unit to ensure that the wax fully penetrates to the very center of the pickup and solidifies all parts. After the cover is placed on, the pickup is given a second vacuum wax bath until the unit is completely saturated. Epiphone uses only the highest quality parts for our pickups including ABS plastic bobbins, 1010 Cold Rolled Steel pole shoes and pole screws, Alnico magnets (just like original hand wound and sought after vintage œPAF pickups) and the finest magnet wire available.

Legendary Epiphone Hardware
The Ltd. Ed. Les Paul Standard Blue Royale features Epiphone' legendary rock solid hardware including a locking LockTone Tune-o-matic fully adjustable bridge and stopbar tailpiece. And now, Epiphone' updated patent pending design auto-locks the bridge and tailpiece in place with no tools needed for even better and super fast and easy string changes. The Epiphone Les Paul Standard uses 1" diameter potentiometers for better "throw," longer life, and reliable service. Epiphone' all-metal toggle switches use rugged spring-steel contacts to ensure years of reliable service and performance. And Epi' proprietary output jack features an improved contact shape and heavy-duty spring steel to increase reliability. All Epiphone Les Paul Standards come with Grover Rotomatic machine heads with an 18:1 tuning ratio for quick-and-easy tuning that' responsive and reliable.

Don't be deceived by the stock picture!

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul Standard Blue Royale Electric Guitar:

The online pictures do NOT do this beauty justice. The metallic blue is amazing and the binding is aged which gives it an amazing look. I put a Bigsby on mine and it is the MOST hot rod guitar that I own based on looks. Otherwise, the guitar is a Les Paul Standard. Simple dual humbucker monster with great tone and sustain. These Epi Alnico Classic pickups are great! The finish is ALMOST flawless. Good enough that it does not interfere with me being happy with such a cool looking and sounding axe.

Comments about Limited Edition Les Paul Standard Blue Royale Electric Guitar:

Epiphone Les Pauls have always intrigued me. Very inexpensive, and they look awesome. This one was the Stupid Deal of Day, so I went for it. And I'm glad I did. After adjusting the action, and putting on some .09's, I gotta say, I'm really digging this guitar. You get what you pay for: it doesn't have the sustain of a more expensive instrument, and the neck feels just a little . . . cheap. I've had many guitars over the past 40+ years, and I swore I wouldn't buy another mid-level guitar, but this was a good purchase. The finish is very nice, the glittery binding might be a little much, but it's an awesome looking guitar. Plays well, sounds decent. Good bang for your buck.

Comments about Limited Edition Les Paul Standard Blue Royale Electric Guitar:

It's a beautiful guitar in my favorite color of blue....very striking. Since I just received this guitar, I am not pleased at present with the fact that the higher strings will not stay in tune, via the tuner keys (I have never had this problem with other guitars I have purchased from Musician Friend). I am going to see if the string lengths can be adjusted to correct this problem. If not, I may seriously consider returning it. I also would have preferred a thinner neck, but overall, the guitar is not bad for the price

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul Standard Blue Royale Electric Guitar:

Bought this through the Stupid Deal Of The Day...I Really could NEVER Get around the reason WHY Epiphone and Gibson, basically being the same Entity,COULDN'T Use the "OPEN-BOOK" Headstock,UNTIL This Diamond in the Rough came to my attention,I just NEVER really have been a fan of the stock EPI headstock...Just my OWN Quirk, doesn't affect the playability of the guitar,or anything other than Aesthetics.
ANYWAY,I Saw the Guitar, and,I've been Liking the "Chicago Blues " colors that Gibson,Epiphone, along with Joe Bonamassa using a similar Blue colored Les Paul, and the "MIDTOWN". I Really liked The BLUE ROYALE LTD ED. Les and the Gold Metallic model. There was Just SOMETHING ABOUT The Blue that Caught Me...and when I Opened up the Box,I am GLAD I Pulled the Trigger,I Really thought that Metallic colors "Cheapened" the Guitar's look,In THIS CASE,It Really Gave the Guitar Some COOL MOJO : ) !! I think this Color is the PRETTIEST LES PAUL Paint Job I've Ever Had .
