I like the way these strings sound and feel. I've been playing for 22 years and I have tried a lot of other cheaper and more expensive brands. I like these. Use the strings you like because other than some internet forums, no one cares what brand you use. To me they sound and feel better than any other brand I've played on. Your mileage may vary.

I have a 1999 Ernie Ball Musicman Sting Ray, a 2014 Fender American Standard Jazz Bass. and 1978 Fender Precision Bass. I use these strings on all three, the all have totally different sounds, and the Slinkys bring out the best in all of them. I've tried a lot of brands over the years, and Slinkys are by far the best sounding strings available.

I usually change strings on my four basses about once a month or so. So when I need a lot of good quality strings at a good price from a company I know that isn't going to cut any corners I order these 2 packs in mass. The strings are amazing and the price is amazing. My one and only complaint is that you can only get the 2 pack deal in Ernie Ball Greens as for Purple or Pink you must still buy individually for some reason. Which is frustrating for players like myself who use different sizes. But I guess I will stick to the Green Pack for a while! Thanks alot for being so awesome Musicians Friend and Ernie Ball a match made in music Heaven.

ever since i got my first guitar (fender strat) i've been using ernie ball strings because, initially, they had a low price tag and i was on a budget. when i strung up my guitar with them i fell in love and continued to use them ever since. when i got my first bass guitar, naturally i went with ernie ball. i don't remember what strings i used at first but now it's a set of regular slinky strings and nothing else will ever be on my basses. these are durable, sound amazing, and feel great under my fingers.

I switched to these originally because I read that thicker strings could help you get into a lower frequency range idealy under louder guitars. I also realized that playing the type of buzz saw music I was playing back then that they didn't move around as much as super slinkys. They pit the neck of lower end basses though, they last well if you break them in right. Oh yeah, they play good tuned down a step but it takes alot of practice.
I only said eight because of music store price gouging.
