When Fender introduced the glittering chrome and offset modernity of the Jaguar in 1962, it was just as the surf players the guitars were intended for were wiping out on the incoming wave of the British invasion. Little did they know that this tonally versatile, short-scale instrument would become an iconic guitar of the '70s New Wave and Punk scene. This Lush Closet Classic Custom Shop version pays tribute to the guitar that became at home on the beach, and then in grittier, more urban environments.
Featuring a 24"-scale rift-sawn maple neck with the comfortable '62 Jaguar profile, Fender modernizes the feel of their first 22-fret neck with a modern 9.5" radius and 6105 frets. Hand-wound Custom Shop '62 Jaguar pickups and the iconic lead and rhythm circuits, including the bass-cut "Strangle" circuit deliver authentic tones, and vintage-correct tuners, bridge and pickguard round out the package. As with all of our Fender Custom Shop instruments, it comes with a deluxe hard case and certificate of Authenticity.
