OVERVIEW

A painstaking replica of Mason's # 1 with Seymour Duncans and Joe Glaser B-Bender.

Nashville studio slinger Brent Mason has wielded a mongrel Telecaster for decades. When it came time to copy every last ding, grease mark and wear pattern, he knew Fender Masterbuilder Kyle McMillin was the only man that could make it happen. The result is the Fender Custom Shop Limited-Edition Brent Mason Telecaster. It not only looks the part, but sounds like it, too—nailing the one-of-a-kind tone that made Mason famous.

McMillin worked closely with the Grammy winner to capture the guitar's full mojo. This involved a painstaking disassembly of the auto-primer grey beauty. McMillin examined every single part, measuring each detail precisely. From the custom Heavy Relic finish to the worn quartersawn Relic maple neck, this guitar has just plain got it. A triple threat of Seymour Duncans supplies the sounds you need for any studio or live situation. A mini-humbucker sits in the neck position, an ’80s-style hot-stack in the middle and a vintage-stack Telecaster in the bridge. All are wired to a custom control assembly with individual volume for the middle pickup, a push/pull tone knob to deactivate the middle pickup and 3-way blade switching.

To truly obtain authentic twang, this Masterbuilt masterpiece comes loaded with Joe Glaser B-bender system. Use it to cop classic pedal steel sounds, or go otherworldly with it—you never know what the song will call for.

Other Masterbuilt appointments include an off-center-seam ash body, 1967 C-shape neck profile, 7.25" radius round-lam quartersawn maple fingerboard with 21 vintage frets and black pearloid face dots.

The Fender Custom Shop Limited-Edition Brent Mason Telecaster Masterbuilt by Kyle McMillin includes a deluxe hardshell case, strap and certificate of authenticity.
