Comments about Gemini TT-1100 USB Belt-Drive Turntable:

Believe it or not. These turntables are not that bad if you just learn how to use them properly. I use these in the studio and they sound just as good if not better than my technics mk5's

Comments about Gemini TT-1100 USB Belt-Drive Turntable:

I bought this turntable a while back for playing and transferring my old albums to digital files. There are only 3 drawbacks (at least with the unit I purchased)all fairly easy to fix. First, I set the pitch at '0' assuming that was correct and after playing back some recordings, I realized it was way too fast and had to go all the way down to -2 to get the pitch correct. Second, the USB interface is not very good, you are better off just hooking up to a 1/8" input on your computer. Lastly I found out the hard way that the Audacity software included does not like it so much if you are running other apps at the same time you are recording, so you might not want to be clicking around your computer as it causes major 'digital skips' in the final recording. All in all very pleased!

Comments about Gemini TT-1100 USB Belt-Drive Turntable:

I am dissatisfied with this unit because the motor hums thru the speakers. I can hear it when the motor is turned on and it gets louder when the table is engaged.
It's useable at medium volume and the noise really can't be heard over the sound of the record. It just ticks me off. I tried to contact Gemini and found it impossibleto leave an email. There is also no dust cover, and no instructins telling how to use the USB & computer to record records. I have yet to find out how to do that.
I recommend you buy something else.

Comments about Gemini TT-1100 USB Belt-Drive Turntable:

Great turntable. Easy to use. Setup was a little weird. Instructions either don't tell you enough or assume you already know. The novice would have some difficulty setting up and using this. Driver setup is a must as it 'maxxes out' the level upon installation. Once adjusted, the sound is as good as any.

Great for playing records, OKAY for scratching.

By Drewski94

from New England

Comments about Gemini TT-1100 USB Belt-Drive Turntable:

I was given this as a gift for Christmas. It's a decent turntable! It's awesome for listening to albums/etc., as for scratching I think it's just OKAY. The reason why is because the metal thing in the middle started to almost lock up making the record sound slow so I had to loosen it using WD-40 and twist it (watch out for that). Another con is the platter moves and is a bit unsteady (moves up and down) so this causes the cartridge to skip if you put too much pressure on it. Overall, it's pretty good but it all depends what to you do.
