Comments about Getzen 998 Eterna Series Valve Trombone:

For the past 3 years for jazz band, I have played the bass, but this year, my teacher asked if I would play the valve trombone. After test both, the schools Blessing, and the Getzen Eterna. The Getzen is so much more powerful, and it has a fuller tone.

Very good, but a few minor issues

Comments about Getzen 998 Eterna Series Valve Trombone:

As far as Valve Trombones go, this one plays the best of any horn I have played. It has a very nice singing quality to it, but it can also get some edge if you want. The low range is also really even and full for a Valve Trombone. I have 2 complaints however. The center of gravity on the horn is not balanced very well. It feels like the bell is heavier than it needs to be causing it to tip back toward your shoulder. It becomes uncomfortable to hold after a while. Also, the condensation builds up quite alot in the 1st and 2nd valve slides where there are no spit valves. On any normal horn this is not a problem, but with this valve trombone you have to pull the slide, turn the horn upside down and blow it out. It takes alot of blowing and sometimes it blows on your face. It's unfortunate that the horn has these inconvienences because it really does play well.

Getzen has the best piston valve that I have experienced. Case does a good job of protecting the horn. Best value that you can find for this quality...

Comments about Getzen 998 Eterna Series Valve Trombone:

I have purchased two of these great valve bones and have given them to schools! Am purchasing a third one for my personal use. The greatest valves anywhere. The optional slide is a pure joy to use and the nickel silver outer slide tube is light and strong, the best in the business. Great sound from a great horn. Try it, you'll buy it! The fit and finish was absolutely flawless.
