Comments about Gibson 2015 Les Paul CM Electric Guitar:

I've been reading about Gibson recently, and there's a lot of criticism of the company out there. Just bought a Les Paul CM 2015. If my LP CM is a measure of the company's dysfunction, and by extension their inability to deliver quality, then there is very little dysfunction at Gibson. The build quality of my CM is first rate. This is an excellent guitar for me, and I've had a few Les Pauls. For me, the CM delivers value in spades. If you want a '59 burst, this guitar probably isn't for you.

The width of the neck at the nut is a very comfortable 42mm; although, it says 43mm in the marketing specs. This neck doesn't feel wider than my LPJ. But then I like a chunkier neck, which I think positively effects sustain and resonance.

The finish is excellent; however, it doesn't feel like nitro. It looks like a stain oversprayed with a thin coat of satin poly. The finish is really well done. No funky blems. I dig the distressed appearance of the stain.

Pleking on my guitar is impressive. The neck is straight as an arrow. The action is fast and low--no fret buzzing anywhere. Out of the box, the guitar was immediately playable. Superb job on the fret ends.

Really good tones out of the '61 Zebra humbucker. It looks right and sounds great in this guitar. Articulate with a little bit of an edge.

I'm used to jumbo and med jumbo frets. These are certainly more vintage sized frets, and they are lower as well. Not sure why Gibson thought this feature was necessary. Low action?

G Force...I was thinking that I would replace it with a set of Grovers, but I'm reconsidering that now. With the push of a button, I can get into alternate tunings quickly and easily. Gets in tune. Stays in tune.

For me, an excellent value guitar. Really highly recommended. I can't think of a single thing I'd change apart from the height of the frets. Looking for a stripped down rock guitar? Try one out...

Comments about Gibson 2015 Les Paul CM Electric Guitar:

Really not a fan of the tuning. Really hope they get rid of that. Not a fan of the nut either. Really wish it had the standard Les Paul logo. Regardless this thing plays awesome.
