The 1963 Firebird V, recreated and lightly aged.
In 1963, Gibson was searching for a look that was aggressively modern could be incorporated into their next solid-body guitar. They turned to automotive designer Ray Dietrich, responsible for both the sporty Packard Boat Tail Speedster and the iconic Checker Cab designs, to design the Firebird V. With an offset body and reversed headstock, the Firebird turned heads from day one. Gibson Custom Shop has painstakingly recreated this historic electric guitar in the 1963 Firebird V, a detailed and exciting replica of the original instrument. With exact contours, dimensions and construction, the Firebird V features a multi-piece mahogany and walnut neck-through design, deluxe banjo tuners and a hot-stamped 3-ply pickguard. Equipped with custom-wound AlNiCo V mini-humbuckers, the 1963 Firebird V delivers the classic scorching tones you’re looking for. For additional vintage appeal, the Firebird V has been very lightly aged with the Murphy Lab aging process.
A hardshell case and Certificate of Authenticity are also included.
