Comments about Guild D-140CE Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I didn't buy mine on MF and mine is used from the Fender era and not the Cordoba era but it honestly is one of the best sounding, balanced, and projecting guitars I have ever played in my 30 some odd years of playing. That said, the Cordoba customer service for what I used them for was very responsive an as good if not better than any I have used before. Normally I play on an Epiphone masterbuilt all solid which sounds nice, or an Ovation 1771 USA balladeer which sounds very nice plugged in, or a Gibson Jumbo J-150 which sounds pretty good unplugged and ok plugged in. This guitar sounds better than all of them. I played it side by side with the Epi and it was just no match for clarity, projection, richness, and sound. I thought the Ovation could keep up plugged in but this guitar just sounded so natural and warm that I had to adjust the EQ on the Ovation to sound as full. I haven't played the Gibson side by side with the Guild yet though.

The solid top is just that... SOLID! It is thicker than any of my other acoustic guitar tops. It is also heavier than my Epi and my Ovation but does not feel as heavy as my Gibson. The neck is the easiest playing neck on an acoustic I have ever played. Frets were even, action is low, the guitar is very well balanced in weight and sound. It is also a very beautiful guitar.

Usually when I go into Guitar Center or a Music store, I will play most acoustics under 1K but I believe unless I am ready to purchase one, I don't play any above that in respect to the store and the future owner. Every now and again though I will play a 3K - 5K acoustic. This guitar sounds as good as any 3K acoustic. I know people will say, after 2K the rest of the cost is the adornment and inlays but those guitars I believe also get the "select" woods and do sound just a little better. For the price this guitar can not be beat. I am thinking about purchasing the rosewood version as well, the D-150CE

Comments about Guild D-140CE Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Quality and tone are 2 things I have always associated with the guild brand although very light which makes it easy to play all night and all day the guitar feels substantial wide fingerboard for easy single string articulation and complicated chord voicings and runs even tone from resounding lows to full rich highs would recommend this guitar to any player looking for a quality and versatile instrument
