OVERVIEW

A jumbo 12-string beating with the heart of all-solid tonewoods with the added bonus of a Fishman pickup.

The F-1512E combines two of Guild' most iconic specialties: twelve string and jumbo guitars. With their large, rounded bodies, jumbo acoustic guitars have been Guild' forte since 1954; combining this shape with the ever-popular 12-string construction results in a full-toned, impressively voiced acoustic instrument. A powerful Fishman Sonitone pickup adds an extra boost of amplification to this Guild classic.

Built with a solid Sitka spruce top and solid Indian rosewood back and sides, the F-1512E also features an Indian Rosewood fingerboard and bridge, NuBone nut and saddle, and mother-of-pearl rosette. This model also has a 1 7/8 nut width on a vintage shaped Guild neck, iconic Chesterfield headstock emblem reminiscent of 1960s Guilds, period-correct tortoiseshell pickguard, and Guild' new lightweight polyfoam case. Available in Natural gloss finish.

    Comments about Guild F-1512E 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

After hearing and playing many 12-strings, I decided to purchase this one. The sound is rich, fantastic and fills every corner of the room I've played it in. This Guild is easy to play and has stayed in tune quite well, despite constant weather changes (Michigan) and being carried around town. Granted it's still new, I have not had one issue at all. Even though it isn't made in the U.S., don't let this discourage you! It's solid wood and delivers. It's worth every penny!

F-1512E - Nice jumbo body 12 string with a few quirks

        Comments about Guild F-1512E 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I purchased the F-1512E to replace a Guild 12 string jumbo body model JF30-12Bld which I purchased in 1993. The bridge had lifted and the body bulged to the point where it could no longer be satisfactorily tuned (in all fairness to Guild, I did keep it fully tuned up to E). I decided the money that the luthier want for repair (with no long term warranty) was better spent on a new guitar. The F-1512E was received well packaged from Musician's Friend in a very nice semi-solid case. The Fishman pickup battery 'bag' was loose when received and 'flopping' around inside the body. The electrical battery connection had pulled loose from the Fishman package. It needed to be plugged back in (not easy to do with strings attached) and the lead secured with a cable tie. Sticky-back Velcro stuck onto the back of the body now holds the battery bag. I hate the end strap pin (with the integral ¼" phono jack for the amp cable). It is not a tapered pin like I'm used to. Needed to open up the hole on my strap with ½" leather punch and secure the strap with an E-Clip. The Fishman onboard Sonitone pickup electronics has two rotary controls (volume and tone) that are accessed by inserting your index finger into the sound hole next to the bass E string. Tight fit. When plugged into an amp I hear absolutely no difference in tone when the tone control is turned. The F-1512E is easy to play, as was my JF30, and the acoustic sound is sweet (albeit a little more treble than I would like; but that could just be the strings that it came with). The sustain is substantial because of the jumbo body. I'm not thrilled with the Fishman amplified sound. In hindsight I wish I had just purchased the F-1512 (not the F-1512E) and installed a Woody, in-the-sound-hole, pickup along with an external pre amp.

            Comments about Guild F-1512E 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I Love this guitar! I also have 1994 Guild D50 made in Rhode Island so I know what a great guitar sounds like. This Guild 12 string sounds incredible. So Rich. Strum a chord and it just resonates for ever so beautifully. Any where on the neck is so easy to play. Plug it in and add a little reverb and you are in heaven. If you want a great guitar - this is it. I've been playing for 40 years and play in a top notch band and own Gibson, fender, epiphone & Guild guitars. Of course I've plated Martins and others but for acoustic its Guild for me.

              Comments about Guild F-1512E 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I an a beginner who loves and collects instruments. If you have not experienced the rich and rolling sound of a 12 string then you are in for a treat when you hear this one. Quality instruments stay in tune. This one does.

                Comments about Guild F-1512E 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Bought this 12 string for acoustic gigging around town. Very satisfied with buying experience and guitar was delivered promptly and packaged excellent. I think it's tough to find a better 12 string from a reputable manufacturer in this price range ( the Martin 12 string in this price range isn't even made of solid wood..) Construction on this guitar is solid, it feels like it will withstand a lifetime of gigging.

                  Comments about Guild F-1512E 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I bought this to play acoustic and smaller shows and get that big 12-string sound. I know a Guild would deliver and it does! This guitar has great sound and projection and I'm sure it will improve with age and steady playing. I have a few Guild Acoustics and have played their 12-strings before, so I know they feel great and play easier than any other 12-stringacoustic out there. Its is really well made, feels great easy to play and sounds fantastic.
