The Artwood series was crafted to produce a traditional as well as a modern guitar. Technology moves forward at a frantic pace and the world of guitar craftsmanship is no different. In producing the AC300NT Artwood Grand Concert Acoustic Guitar, Ibanez respected the rich tradition of the acoustic guitar while adding modern interpretations in their continuing search for the ultimate in guitar tone.
This is a descendent of the old orchestral acoustic guitars, instruments designed to be audible over large instrumental ensembles in the days before amplification.
This Grand Concert body features a wider, 44.5mm neck and shorter 24.9" scale length, ideal for finger picking, while the Solid Engelmann Spruce top and Mahogany back and sides provide a robust tone. Rounding out this rich-sounding acoustic are chrome Grover Tuners for better tuning stability, bone nut and saddle for enhanced overtones, and an easy grip neck shape. Other refinements include a distinctively contoured bridge and a headstock where tradition and modern style co-exist.

A nice surprise. I wasn't shopping for an Ibanez, and had never owned one. I was looking mainly at Takamine and Yamaha that day. I picked up this Ibanez Artwood acoustic and it felt so easy to play, and comfortable to hold. The tone was mellow, but bright too, and carried well. I sat in the "guitar room" for about an hour, playing around with maybe eight or nine guitars, but kept coming back to the Ibanez. I was pleased with the slightly wider neck, because I play finger-style, and with the general quality feel. The action was perfect. The other Ibanez, a sister to this one, had a mahogany top instead of spruce. It had a slightly different sound, but didn't feel quite as nice to my hands. I am very happy with my purchase, and with having a non-dreadnought body style for a change.
