The S5528LW 8-string features an exotic African black limba capped mahogany body and super-rigid Ibanez Ultra-8 neck constructed of five, glued, solid pieces of maple/wenge to accommodate 27 scale string tension, and maintain superior tone and sustain. Electronics include a pair of US made DiMarzio D Activator 8 high-output pickups for strong, percussive, low notes with balanced highs that cut without being piercing. A 5-way switch allows for a variety of tone options.
The original low-profile Gibraltar Standard II-8 bridge, designed for precise intonation adjustment, playing comfort, and great sustain, combine with super smooth Gotoh MG-T locking tuners for superior tuning stability. Hardshell case included.
