Just got mine in lacquer today and I must say that I'm extremely pleased with this horn.It is very free blowing and even through both the high and low registers. I find it very comfortable to hold, and all the valves and slides move well. The intonation is very manageable, as I only have to pull my first valve slide for a couple of notes (A,E,F,Bb). Overall, I would consider this the best value for a CC tuba on the market right now, and I am very pleased with this horn.
I recently bought this horn and it is wonderful! it sounds great and plays well. I highly recommend it if you are switching to a cc.
I just recently switched from playing BBb tuba to CC. And so I bought the Jupiter C tuba. The tone out of this tuba is the best that I have ever gotten from a Jupiter. Its design resembles the Jup582. All the tuning slides are all positioned on one side so you can practically adjust all the slides while youÆre playing. The lead pipe on this C is more angled outward so the tuba is held more of at an angle. 1 more thing about this tuba is that they also include an extra extended tuning slide for the 5th valve. The only downside of this tuba, if you call it a downside is the tuba case for this is the exact same size as the case for the Jup582. So youÆre still going to get the excessively large and padded case.
Comes with a huge case and an alternative 4-semitone bugle for the fifth valve. The low C and Bb notes resonate wonderfully. Beautifully crafted, although the linkage to the fifth valve could be better. My only major complaint is about the hold: the instrument feels heavy on the left hand and it's difficult to find a good grip.
