Wow, there is just so many great things about this instrument! The case is probably one of the nicest little parts about it. It is brown leather with backpack straps and many compartments to hold all of your instrumental needs. The actual saxophone has a very dark and mellow sound that (teamed up with the right mouthpiece, reeds, ligature, etc.) can definitely stand out in any crowd. The only thing you may notice is clacking when you first start playing with the keys. This will soon go away with usage so don't worry. Good intonation, good price, good case, good features, what more could you ask of such a wonderful saxophone?!
As a college musician, I needed a new horn to replace my old Selmer that I used in high school. After trying out many saxophones that were out of my price range, I found this. After trying it out, knew that this was the horn for me. While the stock mouthpiece isnÆt something to brag about, the horn itself has a wonderful timbre and ease of playing. I can reach all of the notes easily and the intonation is relatively good. While it is not the best horn on the market, I would highly recommend it for someone who needs professional quality at a great price. When I do soloist/symphonic work I use a Selmer C*, the mouthpiece is a dream to use on this horn. A Yanagisawa metal mouthpiece works very well for jazz. The layout of the keys fits my hands perfectly and the tension was just perfect (it is a little stiff, the way I like it, if you like looser tension you'll need to get it adjusted). Overall, I will rate 5 stars for ease of playing, ease of range and overall quality.
I have had this sax for a few months now and I absolutely love it. I thought it might be hard to play because itÆs a professional but I was wrong. It is extremely easy to play the low notes. The sax also looks beautiful it is a little different than the picture though. The Jupiter logo is carved out of metal not painted and if youÆre wondering, the engraving on the side is a plant. It is good for new players as well it is a high quality instrument at a great price. I would recommend this sax to anyone who loves the instrument.
Gives you the smooth classical tone you have always wanted plus with just changing a ligature you can go to straight up Jazz.
