Comments about K&M Heavier-DutyTable Keyboard Stand:

This is a tough review for me to write. I like the K&M Company. I own several of their products, and think highly of their design and quality in general.

This product is OK. It will hold. It will most likely not fail. Many parts of it are well designed and built. But in some other important areas, it is as though, some important member of that company, was "asleep at the wheal" (eingeschlafen am Steuer). Generally, the little details which in a relatively small product, can be really important details. My biggest disappointment are the legs. The design is OK, but not great. The implementation is OK, but really, in 2018, after so many years in the business, could you not do better? As the previous reviewer mentioned, the winged nut which holds the 4 machine screws, which hold the leg expansion segment, is really cheaply made. For more expensive keyboard stand, could you not design a better, leg system, could you not offer a better designed leg locking system, could you not offer a few extra screws and wing nuts for the event that they are lost or broken? Plastic pieces to plug opening in the metal frame, which seem to be hopelessly too large and too firm. Instructions, which are really not very good. After so many years, does anyone at K&M really care? The table surface, could you not offer better protection agains scratching the underside of the keyboard?

That being said, portions of this are quality German engineering and construction. That being said, even for the money, probably one of the better keyboard stands available today. That being said, much better than what I used before for my heavy 88 key Fantom 8X.

But in the end I think, "you could have been great" (Du haettest groessartig sein koennen),and does anyone at the K&M company really care? I am just not sure? Perhaps also, some users would be better serviced substituting a table or adjustable standing desk for a keyboard stand.

Comments about K&M Heavier-DutyTable Keyboard Stand:

Stand works fine but is only marginally more stable than cheaper offerings. Unfortunately, one of the hand screws that enables the stand to expand along its width was torqued so hard at the factory that I had to resort to tearing its plastic head off, using a wrench to break it open, and then jamming its plastic head back on. Functions fine but every time I look at that little mangled piece of plastic I'll remember K&M's quality control. For a premium priced stand one doesn't expect to have deal with such things...
