This a very good Eb/D trumpet. Since you change all of the slides and the bell intonation is very good in both D and Eb. The sound is full but still light enough to do those Baroque parts that go a little to low for a piccolo trumpet. I don't played it a lot but it is easy enough to play that I can just pick it up for a few days prior to a gig and I feel secure on it. I have found that it plays best for me on a mouthpiece that has an open throat and back bore with a cup that it slightly deeper than my piccolo trumpet mouthpiece. I use weighted bottom caps on the valve casings which seems to keep me from over blowing the horn when I open up playing with organ and, at least or me, it seems to make the horn focus a little better in the high range. (I use weighted valve caps on almost every one of my trumpets so this may be something that only applies to me.) If you need a good dependable Eb/D trumpet you should give this one a try.
