The Classic Oak 3-Piece Pro Beat shell pack from Ludwig delivers the brand's acclaimed blend of oak and maple in a versatile, gig-ready configuration. With the 24x14" bass drum, 13x9" rack tom and 16x16" floor tom, drummers have a dynamic trio to drive any musical style. The proprietary 5-ply shell design pairs a 3-ply maple core with plies of oak inside and out for a balanced tone with enhanced projection and controlled sustain. Ludwig uses their specialized RFST molding technique on the 6.5 mm shells, employing the same historic bladder molds that created shells for legends like Ringo Starr and John Bonham. This ensures each ply bonds perfectly for maximum durability and the richest acoustic properties.

Crafted With Ludwig's Signature Oak And Maple Shell Formula

At the heart of the Classic Oak drum set is Ludwig's exclusive 5-ply shell design that cleverly blends oak and maple. The center 3 plies are maple, chosen for its superb tonal shaping ability and strong low-end punch. To boost projection and attack, outer plies of oak are added. This creates a highly resonant shell with a beautifully balanced character, focused attack and a controlled sustain. No other drums on the market produce the special warmth and versatility of the Classic Oak sound. Expect rich, diverse tones that will sound incredible live or in the studio.

Made Using Ludwig's Proprietary RFST Molding Process

To construct shells with maximum stability and acoustic integrity, Ludwig employs their specialized RFST molding technique. It uses the actual bladder molds from the '60s and '70s that created shells for drum legends like Ringo Starr and John Bonham. Combined with modern adhesives and bonding methods, RFST ensures a perfect seal between plies for the strongest, best-sounding drum shell possible. You can feel confident that your Classic Oak kit will withstand the rigors of gigging while sounding spectacular.
