Explore the depths of low-end tone-shaping and fuzz effects.

The MXR Sub Octave Bass Fuzz dishes out thunderous low end with earth-shaking fuzz. To create this sonic behemoth, MXR’s engineers combined the Growl section of the Bass Octave Deluxe with a long-forgotten fuzz circuit. With three separate output level controls for the fuzz, sub octave, and dry signals, you can create your own recipe of subterranean tones without sacrificing any of your instrument’s natural sound. Further versatility comes in the form of the fuzz section’s tone controls and two switchable voices—warm and compressed or bright and aggressive—along with the Mid Level control, which allows you to give your dry signal some more punch in the midrange.

  • Combines two switchable fuzz flavors with a growling sub octave signal
  • Separate Dry volume control ensures clean low end retention
  • Bass and Treble controls allow you to fine-tune your fuzz signal
  • Mid Level control allows you to boost your clean midrange to cut through the mix

Comments about MXR Sub Octave Bass Fuzz Pedal:

When I saw the demos of this pedal, I immediately decided i needed on of these in my rig. It was unavailable for months. wait, wait, wait some more. When I finally ordered it, I couldn't wait to try it. Got it, was stoked! plugged it in, working fine when bypassed, hit the button to get the effect, no sound! so bummed! got a lemon! First time ever with an MXR pedal. Go through the return process (which was much easier than I expected) and got the new pedal last night. Umm, worth the wait! Gave it three stars only because the first was not working properly, it's really an awesome pedal. Two types of fuzz and octave down, you can use the fuzz and octave settings independently of each other, just turn the setting you don't want all the way down. Using mine with a fender rumble 200, washburn t24, and other MXR pedals- carbon copy, bass distortion and bass envelope filter. With those other effects and some nimble fingers the sonic possibilities are ridiculous! Very satisfied with the working model of this pedal! Also, I notice that it's a backorder item again today!
