OVERVIEW

Take a trip into endless sonic possibility.

The Uni-Vibe Chorus/Vibrato is one of the most iconic effects in music history. Since the late '60s, groundbreaking guitar players have used it to expand the tonal and textural palette of the electric guitar.

The MXR team has just remastered the classic effect for modern players. The MXR Chorus/Vibrato delivers the same chewy, Leslie-sounding goodness with a smaller footprint.

With its simple three-knob interface, you can dial up the iconic effect to your taste in short order. First, use the VIBE switch to select either Chorus Mode-dry signal mixed with pitch-shifted signal-or Vibrato Mode-only pitch-shifted signal. Then, use the LEVEL control to set the effect volume, the SPEED control to set the sweep rate, and the DEPTH control to set overall intensity.

The MXR Uni-Vibe Chorus/Vibrato comes in a Phase 90-sized housing-a fraction of the size and weight of the original Uni-Vibe pedal-and features true bypass switching. Perfect for taking this lush, swirly pedal out on the road.

Great pedal for classic rock and for adding an unique and distinctive sound to your music. Works best after your compressor-OD-distortion pedals in the effects chain, and works nicely with the MXR Carbon Copy.

Not sure about the other negative review. Maybe his gear. I'm playing a Strat and a Les Paul thru a Marshall JVM410 and have no problems.

The pedal appears to be made well and with the same high MXR standards. Time will tell though. All I can say is that I'm still using my 1975 Phase 90 and Cry Baby. I believe I will get that kind of use out of this pedal. I can't say that about the other manufacturers.

Better pedals out there

Using a rotovibe. Wanted a More compact pedal but the sound quality next to rotovibe is lacking. If I didn't have the rotovibe to compare to this wouldn't be acceptable.

Comments about MXR Uni-Vibe M68 Chorus/Vibrato Guitar Effects Pedal:

The original UNIVBE kept the natural tone of the signal as it swept in and out of phase. Most phase shifters sounded better when pushing a overdriven signal. That's why you hear the MXR Phase 90 on so many classic lead tracks. This new UNIVIBE does not come close to replicating the original. On a clean setting, the sweep sounds very synthetic. A driven signal lacks any character. A good chorus or phase shifter will have a much better effect on your sound.

Comments about MXR Uni-Vibe M68 Chorus/Vibrato Guitar Effects Pedal:

If you are looking at this pedal, chances are, you know what it does. I love it! I play Gibsons into an Orange and I still get all that swirling, underwater, trippy greatness. Open the box, turn the knobs and jam with Jimi and Trower.

Comments about MXR Uni-Vibe M68 Chorus/Vibrato Guitar Effects Pedal:

I have never had the opportunity to use an original Uni Vibe. That being said, This unit provides the effect I expect to hear, I just wish the DC input was not right next to the 1/4 inch input jack. Other than that, this was worth every penny!!

Comments about MXR Uni-Vibe M68 Chorus/Vibrato Guitar Effects Pedal:

The MXR M68 Uni-Vibe is an excellent addition to any guitarist looking to add that classic emulated Leslie rotary-speaker sound to your signal chain. This incarnation of the Uni-Vibe uses FET (Field-Effect-Transistor) technology in it's LFO (Low-Frequency-Oscillator) versus the original's incandescent light and photocell implementation. The effect achieved by the FET LFO versus the light/photocell LFO is deliciously comparable. I, myself, am quite pleased with the price/performance ratio achieved by this little gem! I highly recommend the MXR M68 Uni-Vibe.

Comments about MXR Uni-Vibe M68 Chorus/Vibrato Guitar Effects Pedal:

I was looking for that uni-vibe sound like Hendrix and others get and got. This pedal sort of does that but for the price point and being a compact pedal it's worth the "sort of" and besides that and after messing around with it for a couple weeks I'm intrigued by the many different sounds the pedal can get. It can "sort of" be a chorus and "sort of" be a phaser" also a really good vibrato so it's cool you can dial up these different sounds out of one pedal. Thing is; You just have to be patient to figure it all out. I'm stil figuring it out. I'm in the middle of reworking my board and haven't put it in just yet. I've tried distortion and fuzz before and after. Trying before it seems to get thin on the high freq. sweep so NO distortion or fuzz before...after works great...for me that is. Another thing is when I first got it I wasn't sure it was was working right so I opened it up to find a tiny pot inside so I turned it up a bit.."to the right" and that made all the difference in the world. Next...and Wanting more I turned the little pot full right. Though that's not bad I think I need to go back to the left...just a bit and that'll be the spot. You are NOT going to nail a Hendrix sound with this pedal but and I say again..."sort of". Never the less this pedal is worth buying if for anything ALL the different sounds you can dial it in to do. I'm condidering just putting together a completely seperate board with only 3-4 pedals and this is gonna be one of them right along with the MXR Carbon Copy.

For the price and tone you can't beat this Uni-Vibe. No, it's not made with photocells but, I don't really care if it's a "true" Uni-Vibe clone....It just sounds great. Totally nails the "phase" sound I've had in my head for years. If your looking for a nice UV sound that doesn't take up a ton of pedalboard real estate then you should check this out. I bought a return UV for a discount and I couldn't be happier : )

This pedal sounds great. Gets that nice syrupy Hendrix modulation. Love it. I own quite a few MXR pedals and my only grip is the pedal seems to be made of aluminum.... Not the nice and heavy boxes of my others.
