The VTS-torrefied Adirondack spruce top is aged using a proprietary process to produce a vintage-inspired tone. The spruce becomes more resonant over time, with an emphasized midrange and rich overtones. The VTS top provides the articulation and punch of Adirondack spruce along with the warmth and complexity of an older, played-in guitar. The Custom Shop 45's cocobolo back and sides feature a dramatic curling grain pattern with dark reddish-brown hues. Cocobolo is a dense, oily wood that produces a complex tone and ages well.
