The Martin Special GPC Classic Grand Performance Acoustic-Electric Guitar is crafted with a solid Sitka spruce top and solid sapele back and sides. Like many of Martin’s famous guitars, the Special GPC Grand Performance has all the punch and volume that players have come to expect from the world-famous Martin Guitar Co. The combination of Sitka spruce and sapele back and sides generates a tone with expressive highs and mid-range frequencies—plus a loud, punchy bottom end. Along with a great tone, this guitar has incredible sustain and dynamic response. The Martin Special GPC is outfitted with the Fishman Sonitone pickup system, making this guitar performance ready for the stage or studio.
The Special GPC is equipped with a mortis and tenon neck joint. This glued, neck-to-body joint allows the neck and body of the guitar to resonate as one instrument. Like many of the world’s finest string instruments, the mortis and tenon does not have any bolts that limit sustain and change the color of the acoustic sound. The tight fit increases the transference of tone and sustain across the entire instrument. Play as soft, or as hard as you want, and this instrument has got you covered. This versatile Martin acoustic-electric guitar can handle just about any musical style, from bluegrass to rock, and anything in between.
