A no-compromise twelver!
Martin sets the standard for acoustic guitars, and since 1833 has been a leader in guitar innovation and craftsmanship.
Everyone from Eric Clapton to Sting to Johnny Lang has played a Martin guitar, and professionals and amateurs alike know the bright sparkle and deep, resonant tone that Martin guitars have become famous for, from the most high end acoustics to the Backpacker.
Carefully hand-selected tonewoods, master craftsmanship and beautiful finishes and styles make Martin acoustics a class all their own, and must be played to be believed.
C. F. Martin & Co. has been building 12-string guitars since the early 1930's. Our current 12-string model, the D12-28, is considered the industry standard for both exceptional tone and playability. This is no simple feat.
Because of the tremendous pull exerted on the top by the additional strings, special reinforced bracing is required. Here, Martin has experimented with lighter braces and a modified X-brace pattern that gives strength to the top without sacrificing tone. Playability is improved, too, with Martin's adjustable neck rod that counteracts the higher tension and keeps the strings at a comfortable height. If you're looking for the big, booming sound of rosewood 12-string guitar, the D12-28 is the ideal choice.
