Michael Kelly Guitar's Triad Port has a bold new look, but it is much more than just that. This offset soundhole placement was designed to create a larger resonate surface on the guitars' tops. The Michael Kelly craftsmen then tuned the bracing, side sound holes and top to optimize this design. The Triad Port features a solid spruce top paired with gorgeous flame okume sides and a 3-piece exotic wood back made of flamed okume and ovangkol. When you want to plug in, the Triad Port includes onboard Fishman's Sonitone active preamp system.

Acoustic guitar design has not changed significantly since the pre-World War II era. For several years now, the Michael Kelly team has been working on a fresh new approach to acoustic guitars. This has culminated with the development of the Triad Port.

Comments about Michael Kelly Triad Port Offset Soundhole Cutaway Acoustic Electric Guitar:

I was very surprised by this guitar. Read some good reviews online, but decided to try one out for myself and couldn't be more pleased. Very surprised by the excellent construction. Very nice wood on the neck and the spruce top is nice. Tuners are pretty slick. Loved the offset soundhole and not to mention a soundhole right below where your armpit would be on the side of the guitar. Had excellent tone right out of the box. Tuned up like a champ and stayed in tune through some pretty heavy strumming. Fishman pickup sounds good (has a volume and tone control, no EQ) through my solid state Fender Princeton Chorus (probably would be better through an acoustic amp or a PA). All in all, this was sort of an impulse purchase, but I have ZERO buyer's remorse. Highly recommended.

Comments about Michael Kelly Triad Port Offset Soundhole Cutaway Acoustic Electric Guitar:

This guitar just flat out amazes you over and over.
From the large soundport that not only turns this into a boomer when it needs to, it's location on the top of the instrument allows you to hear yourself playing easily.
The construction, fit, finish and intonation rival anything I've ever played from the big names up to 2k or higher.
Michael Kelly has truly reconstructed the sound board bracing and created a larger sound field which, for the price, is simply amazing.
I had tried the Galaxy model which I believed would come with the same port configuration, but it is a very spunky slimline that lacks the overall character of this guitar. This could be purchased just as a work of art as it is.
Couldn't be happier with my purchase.
