Tube condenser with continuously variable polar pattern.
David Royer is the driving force behind Mojave designs, and he brings with him a wealth of experience and philosophy about microphone design from his namesake company. all of which has been brought to bear on the design and production of the MA-1000. Drawing inspiration from some of recording history's most revered microphones, the MA-1000 is a modern tube microphone that features an original new old-stock 5840 tube, a 251-style capsule and a custom designed transformer built by Coast Magnetics. The result is a sweet, airy top end, a gripping presence and realism in the mids, and an authoritative but not unruly bottom end.
The Signature Series has been field-tested against microphones often costing $20K or more, universally evoking the same ‘Wow’ response usually reserved for only the most prized vintage mics. With performance, reliability, and quality like this, you’ll surely agree that Mojave’s new Signature Series microphone is a New American Classic.
The MA-1000 is ideal for a wide variety of applications. Naturally, it is aimed at being your go-to mic for lead and background vocals and voiceovers, but it is also spectacular on acoustic Instruments, piano, drum overheads and room sound. Its omni settings make it ideal for orchestral and choral recording as well.
Incredibly versatile and effective at all polar settings.
