Features superb control and rich subtones.

Morgan Excalibur alto saxophone mouthpieces are made from the finest pure hard rubber. The formula for the rubber is exclusive to the Morgan Company and is the same formula used by the top mouthpiece makers from the 1920s to the 1950s. It is made solely from rubber with no synthetic additives.

Excalibur saxophone mouthpieces feature a round chamber with a smooth rollover baffle. They have a long S-curved roof to produce that pop you want without sharpness in the palm keys. Excalibur mouthpieces have an even response from low Bb to as high as you want. The mouthpiece has a compact, centered, brilliant sound with maximum control and flexibility.

The Morgan Excalibur Model Mouthpieces are traditional-style streamlined mouthpieces with round chambers and low rollover baffles. These are streamline mouthpieces with smaller bodies than the Jazz models and have a similar core tone but with more edge and power. This model is made of an exclusive pure 100% hard rubber formula. The mouthpiece castings are created exclusively for the Morgan Company using Morgan tooling. The castings are then completely finished by hand to exact specifications.

These are available in Medium(E), Medium-Large(EML) and Large(L) chamber sizes. The Medium Chamber produces a bright, brilliant and centered tone. The Medium-Large Chamber produces a darker core tone with more edge than the L Chamber. The Med/Large-Large chamber produces more volume and projection than the L model with similar tonal characteristics. The Large Chamber produces a warm, deep and rich tone.

Incredible Sound

Comments about Morgan Excalibur Alto Saxophone Mouthpiece:

Unfortunately, I have been using classical mouthpieces my entire life for jazz, until now (except for a metal otto link 6, but I guarentee you that is a poor choice for ALTO). Since my area holds absolutely no music stores in which a decent selection of mouthpieces exists, I decided to take advantage of WWBW's trial policy. The four mouthpieces I tried were the Beechler Diamond Inlay 6, the Rosseau JDX 6, the Peter Ponzol Traditional 75, and the Morgan Excalibur 5 E (Medium). Right off the bat, I completely disregarded the Beechler and the Ponzol-the quality of sound from them came no where near the JDX and the Excalibur. However, these two mouthpieces were very nice-good projection, good highs and lows, incredible tone quality-a nice full tone. I went with the Morgan because I got great response on it. The sound coming from that mouthpiece is incredible; definitely a sound that will stand out for a soloing or lead alto. In addition, from my memory in briefly trying Vandoren and Meyer mouthpieces, this one blows them away. They sound great, but the Morgan has a definitive sound.

Comments about Morgan Excalibur Alto Saxophone Mouthpiece:

Sick and tired of using my s90 for jazz, I decided to buy the new mouthpiece. I then got a Morgan jazz, Morgan Excalibur 6e, a Selmer supper session, Beechler metal, Brillhart metal, Bari metal, and a Vandoren v16. Both Brillhart and Bari were just horrible, and so was the Beechler. The Vandoren Super session ended up sounding just like my s90, and Vandoren v16 was just uncomfortable. I then chose the Morgan Excalibur over the standard Morgan, simply because it is brighter, more powerful, and easier to hit altissimo in tune. Furthermore, this mouthpiece is soo flexible that I sometimes used this mouthpiece to play classical music. The mouthpiece is bright, and is picky with its reeds and ligature setups, but if you find that ideal combination, Morgan Excalibur will just do the best mouthpiece you will ever own.
