Birch, a hardwood, generally gives a brighter, fuller sound as its tight grain structure accentuates higher and lower-end frequencies. Although more resonant than Ash, Birch still has plenty of attack while maintaining a Ëœmid-scooped' tone, a quality favoured by studio engineers and recording artists. All Birch shells are 7-ply and are available in many high gloss lacquer and sparkle finishes.
The hardware features rounded lugs branded with the Natal "Sun" and Natal's NRM (Natal Resonance Mount) tom mounting system which utilizes an aluminum ball for enhanced durability. Each tom has two die-cast Natal badges featuring the ËœSun' logo. The bass drum features a wood I.D. badge, as well as hefty, custom bass drum spurs for a stable low end. Additionally, a tri-position snare throw off will give a drummer flexibility in a set or band with a wide range.
Like the Fusion 22 setup, the US Fusion X is based on a standard 5-piece kit, but features quick, shallow toms for extra attack and better positioning options and a 16-inch floor tom add that extra bottom-end sound.
