Economic, light weight stands. Plastic casting on stands has improved since my last round of stand purchases from On-Stage. Still own 2 of the 6 stands I bought 5 years ago, which are in great shape. The 4 lacking stands were either stolen or lost during load in/out.
Bag has room for another 3-6 stands above what you get here. Material and stitching on bag is of great quality. Padded with a wide toothed zipper, and woven shoulder strap. Sure to stand up to plenty of travel.

Received the order quite promptly. When I unpacked it, found that they had sent Musician's Gear stands and not On-Stage. I won both and IMHO, there is a definite difference in quality between the two. When I finally got through to Customer Service, the kid on the phone told me there was no difference, and the call dropped. The stands are decent, but not what I was led to believe I was paying for.

SIX! count 'em, 6 good quality boom stands for under a c note. Yeah! You can buy better ones, FOR A LOT MORE MONEY! Sure I've broken mic clips, but to be honest, more of them walk away or get left behind than break. 1 locking stud hole stripped and I drilled it out and retapped. Not a problem. gum held the nut in 'til I got home. I have spares!!!Gettin' started? on a budget? Great deal. They are "stands" for crying out loud. They fold up nice. They stay put, buy 'em 8-)

Comments about On-Stage Mic Stand Package:

OK, I've read several reviews putting these stands down. Bottom line is this. You get what you pay for! I run a business and rent a lot of equipment. I've been using these stands for 15 years. Sure they wear out! These are consumable items in any use whither bands, karaoke or what ever. You want to pay more for a pro mic stand, go ahead. They ALL wear out with continued use. I've found these stands to be a fair investment for what you get. Hey, get a little know how and do some minor repairs when needed. I've got four or five that have lasted seven years! I'd say that's a pretty good investment for what you pay!

Comments about On-Stage Mic Stand Package:

The stands could use better reinforcement at the tripod lockdown nut. Could easily be stripped. Same goes for the extension arm lockdown nut. May save on weight, but these stands aren't really meant for vigorous gigging and constant setup and tear down. The carrying bag would probably handle "on the road" usage better than the stands would.

Comments about On-Stage Mic Stand Package:

It is clear that my expectation is not for them to last forever. They will wear out, but then, inexpensive mic stands are consumables. The price is great and they come with a travel bag. Some have complained that they strip. This is true. I repaired a half a dozen of them with threaded inserts and some loctite red. It can be done, and they have lasted another 2 years. They are still holding my mics for lots of performances. Good enough for me.

Comments about On-Stage Mic Stand Package:

This package stands head and shoulders above anything else you can buy from this company in terms of value for dollar spent. I liked the package so much that I bought a second one. The stands are good quality, not great, but their durability is excellent and the price is just too good to ignore. The bags have withstood over a year of being dragged to just about every kind of club gig imaginable and I still haven't broken a single stand or bag. Awesome!

purchased last year. use them about once per week. once I got it thru the heads of our "roadies" that we were not Led Zeppelin... meaning we can't afford to but new stands for each gig...they are being handled as they should... bottom line... take care of them and they will last!!

Comments about On-Stage Mic Stand Package:

We bought these for our church a couple of years ago. Everyone but one have broken. Its not like we trashed them either. They just didn't hold up. Most of the bases just stripped from the boom, so that they don't thread in anymore. If your desperate for a lot of stands for cheap then this is an option, but if you can hold out and spend a little more a more expensive stand should last longer than these.

Comments about On-Stage Mic Stand Package:

Oh yeah, cheap they are, and you will get what you pay for. I bought a 6 pack with the sack. I figured I'd grab one from the box to try out at the gig. Mistake. Normally there's no feeling quite so secure as a new mic stand that won't fall, slip or droop in the middle of a song. Right off the bat before I even got to fully adjust it, the boom knob decides not to seat properly. The mic was flopping around regardless of how much I tightened the knob. Cheapness! After 30 years of gigging, this kind of thing is enough to make you want to spit. Whatever happened to quality? OK, these stands were cheapies. I ended up having to put duct tape on the boom to keep it in place. My first inclination was to send the whole lot back. The reason I bought them was for light use and special occasions when I need multiple mics for school choral recordings or guest singers. I didn't expect these stands to actually get much use, but I would at least hope to get ONE use out of them before resorting to duct tape! Buyer beware. K&M stands are the best.

I like the telescopic boom. I don't like the way the handles on the boom are made so cheaply. For the price though you are getting a good deal. If you are on a budget and looking for some great mic stands, you need to purchase these.
Not built very solid, but for the price to be expected..

Comments about On-Stage Mic Stand Package:

I've owned a set of 6 of these for more than three years now, along with the carrying bag that comes with them. I've used them on the road and in the studio, and haven't had a lick of trouble with them or the carrying bag. I'm so satisfied with them that I bought another half dozen of them recently. Some reviewers have complained that they break easily. The only explanation I can come up with is that these people are careless with their equipment. Lord knows I don't take the best possible care of my gear, and after 3 years of use mine still look like they just came out of the box. I simply can't see how anyone could tear these booms up without abusing them.I'll certainly concede that they're not the sturdiest mic booms on the market, but it seems to me that with a little common-sense care they hold up quite well. If you don't do completely stupid things like gorilla-gripping the screws, cross-threading the mic clips or attempting to force the boom without loosening the gooseneck first, there's absolutely no reason that you couldn't enjoy years of trouble-free service from these booms.Bottom line: You get what you pay for -- if you want a boom that you can abuse, or if they'll regularly be handled by roadies or musicians who may treat them carelessly, then these booms probably aren't for you. However, if you take even marginally decent care of your gear, then you'll find that these booms are worth far more than what you'll pay for them.

Comments about On-Stage Mic Stand Package:

Pretty decent really. You're better off to peel the stickers off the booms right off, or they will get gummed up in the set screw. You also have to be sure to tighten the boom-tilt knob pretty good, because with the rubber gromets and all, they will act like they are going to stay where you put them, then slowly creep down... Good stands though, I've been really happy with them since ordering them ~8 months ago.

Comments about On-Stage Mic Stand Package:

The day that they arrived I was testing some microphones and needed two stands right away. I assembled the first one and put the mic on it. I started assembling the second one and the bracket that mounts the boom to the base broke right off. This was bizarre as it broke quicker than a kid?s present on Christmas Day. The bracket is made of a cheap cast metal and probably had a lot of impurities. Actually, I am glad it broke so quickly, because I would have hated to have it come crashing down with a good mic on it. I was going to just leave all the other stands boxed up until I needed them, but then I took each one out, assembled them, and thoroughly checked them out before I might have to be depending on them. All the rest seemed to be okay and should be sufficient for my use. I can see where the threading on the bracket would strip out if a person wasn?t careful setting them up due to the inferior metal used. I plan on leaving them assembled in the bag until I need them. This should prevent them from stripping out.The bag is very nice and sturdy and will hold all the stands assembled and folded and actually has room for some cords and other stuff. There are grab handles and a shoulder strap that can be unclipped. The price was right for what I got, but definitely not worth the MSRP. I would highly recommend setting them all up and checking them out just like I did. That way, there are no future surprises. I am ordering a boom of a different brand to replace the broken one since the base is still good. I have also purchased some 2.5 pound ankle weights to weigh down the legs as the bases are quite light and they may be susceptible to tipping as the boom is extended.I don?t think that I would trust an expensive mic on one of these.
