Comments about Paiste PST 7 China:

I've switched back to Paiste following a 20 years with Sabian. I'm playing mostly 2002's and wanted to compliment my arsenal with a china type. I heard about the pst 7's and figured I might save some money. My initial impression of the 14" china was one of slight disappointment. I guess my playing and most importantly my ears needed to adjust. I've grown to love this cymbal! Listening to rehearsal playbacks, I can't believe how good that thing sounded. It's absolutely fantastic. The timbre is slightly darker and volume just slightly less than I'm used, but it still retains enough bite upon impact to provide that staccato effect I was looking for. Honestly, I'm floored. This thing is perfect for me. I'm used to Sabian AA and AAX china's and they are wonderful too. However, Paiste cymbals just sound more musical to me. Very, Very content with this purchase!!!!!

Comments about Paiste PST 7 China:

After playing 2002 cymbals for 35 years, I purchased a set of PST7's as a practice set and to knock around on some gigs. The look and feel are similar to the 2002's but the sound is slightly different due to differences in the lathing/hammering process. For gigging players: keep your pricey 2002's at home and use the PST7's to knock around in local clubs/bars...you'll be VERY surprised by the quality and tone.

Comments about Paiste PST 7 China:

Been transitioning back to Paiste after 20 years with Sabian. I'm playing 2002 hi hats, crashes, and rides but ordered the 14" china pst 7 to compliment the set. In my humble opinion, with the exception of the hi hats and bells, both the 2002's and the pst 7's don't sound all that great from the drummers throne. However, listening to them from an audience perspective they are fantastic. I was disappointed initially when hearing the pst 7 china, but after listening to playbacks of rehearsals I'm extremely pleased. Great cymbal. Reasonably priced. Never thought I would find a 14" china I liked better than my trusty Sabian AAX, but I just did.
