The power and beauty you would expect from Italian artisans.

Made to play with a powerful and focused sound, the Patricola CL.2 Virtuoso Bb Clarinet is a favorite among European orchestral players and soloists. Each Virtuoso clarinet features a grenadilla or rosewood body with silver-plated keys, Patricola's patented key adjustment system, and comes complete with two barrels. In order to increase intonation accuracy and provide an even feel throughout all registers, the CL.2 Virtuoso is equipped with a B4 barrel, new bell, and new body design. These improvements create a clarinet that plays as well or better than instruments costing thousands more.
Patricola clarinets have among the lowest crack rate of any clarinet available today. Unlike other manufactures that kiln dry their wood, Patricola allows their wood to dry naturally for 11-13 years.

Comments about Patricola CL.2 Virtuoso Bb Clarinet:

In 2008 I bought a Rosewood Cl2 but returned it shortly after was diagnosed with a rare disability. I was afraid of the money I spent on it and it played and sounded as good as my used R13. Recently wife gave me money to purchase a new Clarinet. I tried all major brands at a local store but in the end decided to take a chance with the Rosewood Patricola again. I'm glad I did. I've had it now for two weeks. The look of the Rosewood is incredible and the sound is great. The instrument is much lighter (in weight) than my Buffet R13. The action is tighter meaning that the size, shape and positioning of the keys are nicer than my R13 allowing me faster playing. The only down side that I've found is that the throat tone Bb is slightly weaker than an R13 but not enough to make a difference. The Patricola case is not exciting. It's a snap open case that I feel is dangerous. I like a case you zip up but to me this is moot given that I purchased a Protec case.
