I got this case for my son to use every day to take his instrument to and from school instead of its original heirloom all wood case. This case is awesome! It holds the instrument real well, contains enough padding and protection. The straps make it very convenient to carry. At parent-teacher conferences last week, the band director (a trombone player) and her assistant wanted to know where I found it. That says it all right there.

Doesn't fit a Conn 52H

The case is quite well made, and if your Trombone fits it should be an excellent case, however the inner padding doesn't allow my daughter's Conn 52H to fit correctly.

Love this Case! but...

Comments about Protec MAX Tenor Trombone Case:

It is LIGHT, LIGHT, LIGHT!!!
My trombone didn't fit. I have a custom B42O with infinity valve and gold brass bell. Sweet! The slide section fit perfectly, the bell section the case wouldn't accept the infinity valve... so I modified the case so the trigger assembly would fit. Then once I got the bell section in, I couldn't get the case closed. The arrangement of the bell section interfered with some of the padding by the slide (stows in the lid), back to the modifying, I crushed some of the padding so it wold clear the bell. All is fit and well... I couldn't figure out the correct ProTec, without getting into the bass trombone sized cases. This works, and did I mention it is LIGHT! BTW, my instrument builder/tech, said he would have used a different technique to modify the case (mind involved a hammer) but all is well.

Comments about Protec MAX Tenor Trombone Case:

My son is a junior in college and his case broke. He had been wanting another carry bag for his trombone and had already asked for this product once before. One of his fellow music majors that also plays the trombone recommended this case. Turns out he was right! My son was ecstatic that he can now carry his instrument with ease around campus & to gigs. Thanks for such a great product!!

awesome case. Super lightweight with all the protection I need. My one quesiton yet to be answered is: will stickers stick to the nylon exterior. If not I'll have to find other ways to identify my case

I was concerned that the case would offer enough padding for my trombone but I was happy to find that it surpassed my expectations. The light weight of the case makes transport easy and it has multiple options for carrying it. I love the backpack straps for when I'm flying plus it fits in the overhead!

Comments about Protec MAX Tenor Trombone Case:

I was very pleased when I received this gig bag. The trombone is very well protected inside, and both the bell and slide sections are well secured (partly by the case design, partly by velcro closures). There are two internal compartments (for mouthpieces, slide oil, etc.) and a big external compartment that I found large enough for my Hamilton trombone stand. The case has a firm flat end at the bell end so you can leave the case (with horn inside) on its end, and there is a grip at the other end; I think the case is very well designed.
Despite the strong protection for the horn, the case is very light. And it does have a great shoulder strap.
I've had it about two months and so far am delighted with it. The one question: how will the zipper closure hold up over time. I think that if I treat it reasonably, it will last a long time.
Although listed as a case for a tenor trombone, I believe it would be large enough for many bass trombones (but you'd obviously need to check that out carefully).
