Clarity, balance, and expansive dynamic range, all in RainSong's signature carbon fiber and fiberglass body.

The RainSong Hybrid Series combines carbon fiber with glass fiber construction to achieve the signature RainSong sound and road-tough stability at an attractive price. This Orchestra Model is the smallest and most refined of all RainSong's shapes. The glass and carbon fiber guitar is also the company's most comfortable and intimate guitar, with an immediacy of presence that makes it a favorite with the coffee house crowd. The treble, already a breathtaking attribute of RainSong, and the carbon sound are simply sublime in this little guitar. Crystal clarity, balance, superb separation of individual notes, and an expansive dynamic range make the RainSong H-OM1000N2 an individually expressive acoustic-electric guitar.

Because of Projection Tuned Layering, the H-OM1000N2 acoustic-electric guitar is capable of strong projection. It won't rattle windows like the Jumbo or the Dreadnought, but the RainSong OM, when driven, packs a lot of power and punch for a small-bodied glass and carbon fiber guitar. The neck is a result of an extensive, long-term collaboration with the renowned artist Steve Miller and Master Luthier John Bolin.

The neck design is based on a modified "U" profile that has been popular in guitars since the 1950s. It has a substantial feel that is ergonomically sound and results in better transfer of string vibration energy to the soundboard. This acoustic-electric guitar features a truss rod that is accessible from the headstock. Graphite does not warp or bow with changes in humidity and temperature, so the purpose of a truss rod is to allow customization of the relief to suit individual preferences.

At the heart of the RainSong guitar is an impressive electronics system, with a preamp featuring ultraquiet electronics and volume, bass, treble controls and a built-in chromatic tuner.

Comments about RainSong Hybrid Series H-OM1000N2 Slim Body Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I bought the H-OM1000N2 based on reviews in AG magazine of other Rainsong models and can't be more pleased. Arrived with a very nice moulded custom hardcase and sounded spectacular. Quality is top notch. I fly RC helicopters and Gliders and have seen a lot of carbon fiber mouldings and this one is as good as it gets.

I hesitated to get the small body because of volume but believe me this guitar has very good volume and low end punch even when fingerpicked. Does it sound good? that is an enthusiastic yes. I would have a hard time telling it from a solid wood guitar in a blind test. I can switch to my Taylor 714CE and tell a difference in character but this is true of all instruments. It possibly could be described as a cross between rosewood and mahogany with a twist of crystal.

One nice feature is being able to leave it out instead of storing in the case with a humidipack. As a result it gets more use. This is a fine addition to anyone's guitar collection or would make a perfect only guitar at a reasonable price.

Oh yes the electronics! This worked very well with a loudbox mini after some play with the adjustments. I can only speak for low volume practice use and am not expert at electric play. It really is useful to have the tuner included.

Comments about RainSong Hybrid Series H-OM1000N2 Slim Body Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

The Rainsong H-OM1000N2 is my first carbon fiber guitar. There are no guitar stores with CF guitars locally so I did a lot of research before deciding on this model. I originally chose the CH-OM but decided to upgrade as the H-OM has fretboard markers, 21 vs 20 frets and an upgraded Fishman pickup.
MF shipped the guitar quickly and it arrived in perfect condition. The first thing I noticed was that the string height was very high. I took it to my Luthier and after shaving the bridge saddle and nut the setup was perfect. The guitar does have a thick neck (like a Les Paul Studio) but is easy to play. The slim body is very comfortable to hold. Even though it has less physical volume than a full sized OM guitar the volume exceeds it's size. Both finger picking and strumming produce clear, crisp notes all the way up the neck. The Fishman Prefix+T system is great. Very adjustable to style and requirements and it includes an accurate tuner.
