I got this case for my Taylor 150e 12 string to replace the gig bag it came with. It is a great fit. It is snug enough that you have to lightly guide it all the way in but it's not too tight. The headstock clears the top end of the case by about an eighth of an inch. The guitar stays nice and still in there with no wiggle room which is exactly what you want. I tried the equivalent case made by Gator and it was slightly too short for the headstock. I never tried SKB or Gator's 12 string case but this road runner case seems basically equivalent to the other molded ABS cases on the market. I did find that the current Martin dreadnought case is also a perfect fit, but it was not molded plastic like this one. The only better option might be to buy Taylor's dreadnought case which would of course be a perfect fit, but it costs almost twice as much and is very heavy. I have a Taylor case for a 90's 400 series Taylor but the handle fell off (probably because the case was so heavy). Now I can use the road runner for either guitar if I am only needing to bring one of them with me. Honestly I think the road runner protects the guitar just as much or almost as much as a Taylor hardshell, but for less money and weight.

Unless you are going to spend a couple hundred dollars on a case then the problems this case has in store for you will likely be similar to other cases you will find. The support strap that is supposed to hold the case open/stop it from being opened too far was too short so the case would close shut under its own weight. I ripped that out and put in a new one made of leather and now it works fine (looks better too because the stock strap is a pretty cheap material). The inside of the case is made from styrofoam and covered with a knock off of fur (the inside looks good though). The outside of the case is probably where all the money for this went. It looks good and can take a pretty good blow and still keep your guitar safe. The down side is that the latches on the guitar are not top knotch latches. They work fine but one of mine is looser than it should be and rattles a bit (not a big problem, just not something I was expecting). Overall I'd say go ahead and buy this case if you're looking for a semi-good quality case, but don't buy it if you're looking for a "great case".

Comments about Road Runner RRMADN ABS Molded Acoustic Dreadnought Guitar Case:

I would recommend this case. Of the three cases I own...........this is the one I take my guitar out of the house with. Even in adverse conditions like camping I'm confident it will do a great job of protecting my guitar from the elements.
I needed a rugged case so I could take my guitar on my 4 wheeler camping trips.
Quality and workmanship is very good. Lines up perfectly when I close it. Materials used for construction are more than adequate for almost any condition.
Plenty of interior storage, cushy and includes a lock.

Comments about Road Runner RRMADN ABS Molded Acoustic Dreadnought Guitar Case:

I'm a guitar maker and have used these cases often because they are a good quality ABS case at a good price. They are sized just right to protect the guitar without extar bulk.
The only very little improvement that could be made is in the latches, they can be a little tricky to latch.

Comments about Road Runner RRMADN ABS Molded Acoustic Dreadnought Guitar Case:

            1. The outer shell looks to be able to stand up to any reasonable impact. Hard, scuff-resistant matte black plastic of some kind that looks impressive, even "expensive".

            2. Mating edges for lid and case are aluminum extrusions that form a tight fit with no problems. I bought two cases and I do need to 'jiggle' the headstock end of one to get the upper and lower extrusions to mate, but it's no trouble. I want protection from impact, but also need effective humidification, especially during the dry winter months. These cases seal very tightly - so my in-case humidifiers shouldn't dry out prematurely.

            3. These cases look beautiful, the lid is arched (not flat) and the bottom surface under/behind the neck involves a long, sweeping curve that looks great.

            4. There are four small rubber feet on the bottom surface for when the case lays flat on the floor. There four large plastic feet on the hinge side for when the case stands as a suitcase would, with the handle up and the hinges down. There's even a pair of 'plastic ribs' molded along some edges to protect the case and its hardware. This case is very well designed, to protect itself and your valuable instrument.

            5. There are four latches, one of which locks with a key. They seem entirely suitable.

            6. The interior is a soft gray 'fur'. It's very nice, but be sure to vacuum the inside of the case when it first arrives. Otherwise, lots of tiny gray 'fur' flecks will cover your guitar…

            7. The interior space/shape is slightly large for a standard dreadnought, but that's no problem and I would rather have a little extra room than have too tight a fit. I've tested the fit by shaking the case vigorously. The dreadnought guitar does move inside the case, but only slightly. The OUTER dimensions don't seem large, but the interior might be big enough for a "Jumbo" acoustic guitar. The accessories bin under the neck is large and easy-access.

            EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER CARE

I bought two cases for a pair of good-quality dreadnoughts. At first I purchased lesser-quality cases, but returned them due to quality issues. The Musician's Friend Customer Service representative made that a painless experience. Next, RYAN recommended these RoadRunner RRMADN cases as an upgrade - and extended a discount to "accommodate me for the inconvenience". Too good.

Thanks to RYAN (Sales ext 2951) for making the deal, and thanks to MASON (Sales ext 2337) for following through with the details. I'm very pleased with the two cases and with Musician's Friend's usual outstanding service.

I emailed MF several times before buying this case. Confirmed it would fit my Taylor 210 and would of same quality as my other case I purchased. They emailed back positive so i bought it. Took week and a half to get it and as soon as i opened it, it was not same quality, actually pretty cheap quality and it did not even come close to fitting my Taylor guitar. Way too big.
Had to argue with several people before they would accept my return without me having to pay 27 buck return postage. Sorry to say i cannot recommend this case.

Really well made. Did not encounter the smell of the interior that others mention.
I bought this for a Orchestra or Grand Auditorium sized acoustic. The width left about 1.5 inches of wiggle room. So I swapped around a couple other guitars and ended up with a true dreadnought sized axe in this one.
Wish some made a true Orchestra sized case.

Very solid protection for my new Alvarez Artist Series 12 string. Lots of room at the headstock and a perfect fit. A bit loose at the upper and lower bout but my guitar will not move enough to matter. Wish it had a little more padding on the bottom but very happy.I don't have to worry if it gets banged around a bit in transit to anywhere USA! Dig It! Very Groovy MF!

This case is much too long in the body for both Martins and Gibsons. It's a well made case but what's the point if your guitar is falling around inside it?
