Excellent mid-level case. I needed a case for my Fender Kingman bass and was having trouble finding one that would accomadate its length and most importantly protect my bass. MF customer service told me this one will work. After receiving the case I was very impressed with how it was made and the Kingman fit perfectly. I think it will hold up well under most situations with my personal handling. If you are looking for a case that is roadie or airline worthy you'll need to money-up for an Anvil or other industrial type case. But for everyday use and local gigging it will work well.

Musician's Friend offers outstanding service. No problems with them what so ever. The Roadrunner case however is another story. It is molded plastic. The top gives with a light push offering minimal protection. If the latches last more than a week I would be surprised. The interior smelled toxic and had very little or no padding that was lined with what looked like mangy dog fur. Made in China. This was returned to MF.

Acoustic Electric Bass Guitar Case

Comments about Road Runner RRMBA17 ABS Molded Acoustic Bass Case:

If you are looking for a case that is the next step up from a bag or foam case, this case fits the bill, It certainly offers thorough enough protection for most gigging situations.
I was looking for a case that would fit a Fender Kingman acoustic-electric bass. The overall length of this case accomodates this bass guitar. The light grey plush lining is a positive. The case is basically a molded plastic and has a little give, . The case is very light weight. For the price, I believe this case is a bargain.
With the experience I have had with various cases, it is questionable if it would be able to hold up to any unusual maltreatment. The hardware is not heavy duty, and I probably wouldn't trust it to protect my bass guitar on a commercial airline flight.
For the price being under $100 I believe I got a bargain.

Comments about Road Runner RRMBA17 ABS Molded Acoustic Bass Case:

This is an excellent case for the money. If you need a solid case for basic transport from time to time, this is for you. If you're a touring, working musician, you're not going to want this case simply because the latches aren't on par with Gator or SKB cases. If you use these day in and day out, I'm guessing they wouldn't hold up well. But for the rest of us, who use a case for storage or occasional transport, this case can't be beat. It's a super sturdy case that should fill my needs for years to come. I have a Samick Greg Bennet AB-2 that's a tad too small for the case, but I just tuck my cleaning towel along the bottom and it doesn't shift around. It's definitely a "one size fits all" for acoustic basses, so it's going to be a bit large for some models, but this should fit about every brand out there.

Comments about Road Runner RRMBA17 ABS Molded Acoustic Bass Case:

If you have an Acoustic (Electric) Bass, stop looking and buy this case. I have a Washburn A-10 and it fit like it was made for it. The lid on the storage compartment is only attached with the lining, so it's a little flimsy and cheap feeling. But when the lid on the inside storage compartment is your only issue with a guitar case, BUY IT.

Comments about Road Runner RRMBA17 ABS Molded Acoustic Bass Case:

I recently bought a kingman bass. Then could not find a hard case for it without backordering for months. Saw this one on MF and read the review that said it would fit, so ordered it. So glad I did. Fits nicely and protects the bass much better than the gig bag I had it in. Also has a good size storage compartment.

Comments about Road Runner RRMBA17 ABS Molded Acoustic Bass Case:

This is a very good case. It fits my Samick AB2 four string acoustic/electric bass. I'm very pleased that is has 5 latches to close it tightly. It has a very good soft lining inside and plenty of storage space. It is well worth the money. It's an overall very good case.
It has a sturdy shell and the inside is very soft and fits my bass which is a samick ab2 4 string accoustic/electric. There is some room to move but not enough to cause damage.
            Very good bass case.
You cant beat the case at this price

Of all the Acoustic Bass cases I have examined (and that has been just about all of them on the market) this is the only one that has an exterior that will not get tears due to its construction material. It fits my Cort acoustic bass wonderfully, even with it's 5 inch deep body.

I was looking for a hard shell solution for my 2018 Michael Kelly 4 String Dragonfly. I didn't want a gig bag, as I like the safety of a rigid case. While this case is not what I'd use to send on an airline, it's very solid for light gigging and for protection against something heavy falling on it. As far as the fit is concerned, it's about an inch larger in the bout than my bass, but once shut, it doesn't move.

This case works for an Alvarez acoustic bass, but it is a VERY tight fit. Do not be discouraged if it does not initially fit. The padding is flexible and it will accept the bass. The latches are temperamental, in that the loop gets caught on the case side of the latch and does not easily slide down into the latch groove. Takes some patience and work, but all the latches will latch. I would have given it another star if it weren't for those latches. This is the case that a Musician's Friend rep recommended for this specific bass.

I am a performing musician and a guitar teacher so I use my guitar A LOT. I got this roadrunner case to replace my original Gibson case, which after 10+ years fell apart. The roadrunner case lasted 2 years, if that, and that handle broke, plus the latches get more difficult to close/open as time goes on. If you play casually at home, or travel with your guitar rarely, this will do fine. If you play in a band and do any out of town shows, or tours, this will not make it. Just spend the extra money on SKB, Gator, or Wolf. Not to mention, the company wouldn't do anything for me, since it was a gift and I didn't know the exact purchase date to use the warranty. Customer service was just robotic answers regardless of the situation at hand. AVOID!

Comments about Road Runner RRMBA17 ABS Molded Acoustic Bass Case:

This case was recommended by the acoustic bass manufacturer, Breedlove. It is a good case and the bass fits, but it is not a snug fit like I had hoped. Consequently, the bass moves around a bit inside the case. Not a show stopper, but when the manufacturer relies on after market product support you live with what you get.
