This instrument is one of the finest I have ever played. The tone color you can get out of this horn is amazing throughout the range of the instrument. Playing in a large ensemble, I hold my own. On solo repertoire I am able to get the dark round tone that I have been striving for. The valves allow for an open low range and have allowed me to improve my low range technique. This instrument does not break up or "bark" at fuller dynamics like some other basses that I have played on. This is by far the best investment I have ever made.
