Schilke ST30 Straight Trombone
OVERVIEW
Elegant pro tenor trombone.
Schilke trombones were a pursuit of the great Renold Schilke in the 1970s, primarily building them on request. Since then the ST20 went into full production as Schilke's flagship trombone, an instrument that has been warmly embraced by jazz and classical trombonists alike. The ST30 is Schilkes most recent trombone design. It incorporates a .500 bore with a choice in both bell and hand slide material.
Bells
Bells are 8 in diameter and offered in either yellow or rose brass. The yellow brass bell affords the player a brilliant sound across the registers and is perfect for either lead or section playing. Whereas the rose brass bell presents a warm, singing sound, perfect for solos and ballads.
Handslides
Schilke ST30 hand slides are .500 bore with chrome-plated inner tubes. Hand slides are available in either an all yellow brass or an all nickel-silver outer slide. The yellow brass hand slide yields a slightly warmer sound with more rounded articulations, while the nickel hand slide creates a brilliant sound with more immediate articulated response.
Leadpipes
The ST30 comes with three interchangeable leadpipes to suit each players needs. With the number one leadpipe being the tightest and the number three the most open, the players choice in leadpipe will help tailor the ST30 to their desire.
The ST30 also comes with a removable engraved counterweight as well as a lightweight hard shell case.
FEATURES
- Nimble action, big sound
- Elegant, simple lines
- Warm, rich and complex tone
- Comes with case and mouthpiece
