I have played on several series III sopranos, and this new edition is definitely an improvement on an already great saxophone. Most of the changes are cosmetic (honey gold lacquer and very ornate bell engraving), but I also find that this horn produces warmer low overtones and is generally more consistent with intonation throughout the entire range. The case that comes with it is high quality as well. While it is not cheap, I don't regret the money I have spent on it at all.
